Although there are a few distracting typos, this was a wonderful story that brought the Battle of Gettysburg to life and still added a touching family/human-interest factor.HIGHLY recommend!

My fourth grade students love this series! Gettysburg Adventure is the first book and I read it aloud to my students to go along with our Civil War unit. It gives them so much knowledge about not only Gettysburg, but also the war itself and how it affected soldiers and families. It gives the students context as we talk about the war in Social Studies. Many of my students, both boys and girls, go on and read Savannah Adventure: Pirate's Treasure and Natchez Adventure: Footsteps on the Trace and are anxiously awaiting the fourth book about the Alamo!

I actually know the lady that wrote this book and it was a good read. I have a junior high child and he tells me about the books they are reading and this one would definitely hold their interest better!
