Now, when the subterfuge of strange visitors from afar turns deadly, will the children be able to do the same? When the Draca Cats from Callyn-Rhe appear on the horizon, are they there to join the shifters or fight them to the death? For even though the cats, too, are the children of oath, their hunger for dominance cannot be quenched. An ancient thirst for blood resurrects from centuries past, but the strangers cannot possibly know what it means to be a shifter. They cannot possibly know about their unbreakable oaths. And, they cannot possibly know that these are not just children. If they did, it is unlikely that they ever would have set foot on the island of Massa....

An Oath of the Children Reviews
Why stop at 5 stars?!!! Seriously this is one series that just gets better and better! Every time I think that Mrs. Zambito could not possibly find a way to make the next installment live up to the last she blows me away.Oath of the Children is now my favorite book of all time. I found myself in it's grips from page one and could not put it down. I did something I rarely do, I could not put it down so after a quick late night read, I read it a second time before reviewing. And the second read through was just as gripping as the first! For anyone who loves magic and paranormal it doesn't get any better than this. There's so much action and adventure that your mind is working at warp speed. No way to guess what's to come on the next page, let alone in the end! The magic and the "beings" within the novel are so original and lovable that's impossible to not be hooked. I love that everything is so methodically planned and all characters are extremely well developed and hold unique and sting characteristics. The love stories that have unfolded in this series are not your typical paranormal, "just in love because that's the way it is" fairy tale. Even if they are very much the kind of love stories fairy tales are made of! Kenley Atlan is one of my new favorite heroines. She's everything you would expect being the daughter of the courageous (and a little stubborn) Kirnan and Beck Atlan, Savitar turned Mage. Kenley has an amazing spirit, a little defiance, so much bravery and is full of spunk! Her brothers and the children of the other Savitars are just as amazing, each with their own strengths and brooding personalities! If the combined powers of the Savitars were unthinkable I can not even imagine what these children have in store for them! The adventure in this installment is intense and even managed to surpass the first two books ( never would have believed it was possible!). Somehow with such a wide array of important characters and situations the author was able to keep the book focused and on track. Even beyond that the characters held true to all that they are and blossomed in unbelievable ways! I feel like I may be rambling a bit and there is sooo much I would like to say, but I defiantly do not want to throw out any spoilers! This is a must read that you really have to discover for yourself!! I am sure you could read any of these books as a stand alone and still be pleased with them, but READ THE WHOLE SERIES! It will not disappoint! It gives you a full background and allows you to become lost in the world of Massa.I truly believe this would make for an amazing movie series! It would give the traditional paranormal series that are out today (twilight, lord of the rings, Harry Potter, and so on) a new form of competition! It's defiantly imaginative and inspires all kinds of fun dreams :) Can't wait to start sharing with my daughter! (With the exception of a couple of quick seances that I can skim over) this is going to become our new bedtime stories!Thank you Valerie Zambito for sharing your creativity and I can not wait to see what the book has in store!!!
I have been waiting to read this book for a while, having been an avid fan of books 1 and 2 of the Island Shifters series. Overall, I have to say that I enjoyed it very much! While it did start off rather slow, I understand the reason why. 20 years has passed since book 2 so there was a lot of “catch up” to do and a lot of new characters (the children of the Savitars) to introduce. Once I got past the first 60 pages, the book picked up in speed and didn’t let me go until the last line on the final page. It was a great roller coaster ride. I was a little sad to learn what happened to the Vypir, only because my ever curious mind was really intrigued about what (or who) the Vypir used to be, and I think it would have been a good opportunity to open up another book. However, I think these books were meant to be a trilogy. I do wish that not quite so much time had passed since book 2, because it was a little difficult to wrap my head around the fact that all the Savitars had gotten married, had children and they were all grown to young adults by the time the book started. I don’t know, I just felt like it was missing something. Overall, it was solid book, but I think I would’ve liked to see an “in-between” book after like 10 years or something before the 20 years. I really liked this book and will definitely continue to read Zambito’s books in the future. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys magic!
I really like this series, and although I liked this book, I felt that the storyline regarding the Draca Cats wasn't really given much attention. It started off strong with Nazar leading a rebellion, but the story of the invading elves from Ellvin took up most of the book. I really would've liked to have seen the Draca Cats' story expanded on a bit more. Overall it was great, especially being able to see the way the children of the Savitars were able to use their shifting ability and fight the enemy.
Excited to find the next book! Not sure if its out yet, but I'm gonna keep my eyes open lol I am addicted to this series. I recommend this series to all fantasy and magic lovers.
Another superb read but sad when I finished as I have to wait for the next one.
This was an awesome book. I hardly have any nails left, I hope they recover to he next book. So now I just need the next one in the series, soon.
