This one takes off right where the last book ended except now Roarke gets his story told. We saw him as the quiet and fierce leader who always knows best, but if you're like me you saw that he had a sadness to him now we find out why. When he finds out his mate is alive after 500 years of beliving her dead and waiting for death to take him seeing her alive he knows his feeling for her have never changed and he is determined to prove to her that no matter what she has to say or what she has been through he will always be there for her.Deanna has had a rough life and now has a chance to finally get her happiness if only she can let go of the insecuruties her past has wrought her. She is so strong after everything she has been through and determined to help others like she was once helped.Roarke is determined. When he finds his mate alive he will do anything to get her back where she belongs at his side. The story continues as they keep searching for Dax so they can bring him to justice once and for all, but nothing is ever as easy as is seems.A hot addition to the series as things steam up more and more and the pages will melt right before your eyes!

I wasnt going to write a review because I wasn't asked, but this is another one of those authors that deserve kudos. She did an amazing job! I didn't get to read #1 and was HOPING that this was good enough to be a standalone (been a bit disappointed with other authors). This book definitely has what it needs to standalone! Just makes me wish I had read #1 lol.

It was great how this book followed straight on from book 1 and we learn even more about Cynn Cruors as well as the Scatha Cruors. You can't help but love the literally undying love Roarke and Deanna have for one another and it was great how there history is hundreds of years old so you cant help but root for them to sort things out!. This is a great mix of suspense, twists and romance that at times is blushing! The pace is great and characters well developed and it is also great how the outer characters are also pretty well developed so you fully sucked into what you are reading.I can't wait to read more in this series!I was given a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review for The Assassin's reading reviewing group.

This is a fast paced paranormal romance. Book two in the Cynn Cruor Bloodline Series. Adults only due to the sexual content. This book picks up where book one leaves off, so I advise you to read the first book. I love how Deanna turns her life around, she does not allow tragedy to get the best of her. I also love how she lives her life to help others.Roarke thought he lost his wife, but he saw her there was no doubt it was her. He had to find her, had to find out why. Why, he had buried her, he had believed she has passed. Was she allowing him to think she was dead, was she hiding, he needed answers. Or was he crazy? Fortunately, Deanna happens to cross his path, now he has a chance to get his answers. Deanna is here to get answers, or is it really to ask questions. She has been through hell and back and even though there is no doubt there is still a connection between them, she is tainted. Will he accept that, can she make him understand? Of course she has to keep her hands to herself also. Time has not dulled their love, can they make it work? Favorite passages:"Her eyes, pools of cornflower blue, were fringed with long lashes which swept over the tops of her cheekbones.""His sharp green eyes were the colour of dark moss.""A ghost of a smile flitted across her mouth.""She was a fragile flower clothed with an amour of steel.""Because he was her soul.""The kind of shadows that looked like transparent curtains in the pouring rain.""The raindrops fell like shards of black glass."

I totally enjoyed the first book in the series, this one take off where that one left off which is just as good as book 1 was. Isobelle gives a different twist to the normal. I find her books to be very interesting and intriguing she gives a well told story with action and outstanding passionate love scenes. I loved Roarke he lost his love many years ago he doesn’t understand why he is still alive until the day he sees her. Has he lost his mind or could that really be her wasn’t she dead. Yes she was he buried her his self. He must be losing his mind. Roarke is such a wonderful character he is strong, giving, demanding but loves his people. After hundreds of years he is still fighting to bring Dac Valeria down. He is the reason he lost his love along with hundreds of women and child coming up missing around the world.Deanna breaks my heart with all she had to endure through the years. She feels because of the things she was made to do she isn’t good enough for Roarke. With where she has been would they even believe her if she told them her heart has always been with him and his people. They have some trying times ahead trying to find their place with each other, bring the Scatha Cruor down. Deanna places herself with freeing others and letting them think the worse of her. She sees no other way to save the women and children. In doing so she lets her people believe the worse. It is going to be a long road to bring justices to those she cares about and those she needs.I thought this was very well written the author had me holding my breath a time or two. The passion between these to is very powerful. The author gives great details as she tells a wonderful told story. You can feel their pain and hurt across the centuries each never forgetting the other. Life most go on they live in hope that they will be together again. This was really a very touching heartbreaking read, even when they are together there is still so much between them. I am really looking forward to book 3.

Forever at Midnight, Book 2 in “The Cynn Cruor Bloodline Series”. I so loved the first book in this series, Rapture at Midnight and this one was just as fantabulous. This book centered around Roarke and his mate, Deanna. It was the year 1557 when they were first mated but the last step of the bonding was not able to be completed before the Scath Cruor attacked. Roarke had to go and fight and when it was over, he thought Deanna had died. Coming back to the present, while on a mission still hunting for Dac, he thinks he spots Deanna in a club. Impossible he says, he buried her, she was dead. But was she really, because a known fact is that when your mate dies, then so do you at some point and he was still alive after all of those years. So now comes this story of Roarke looking for Deanna, finding her and finding out what happened to her all of these years. Is there still a connection, are they still mates, is there still love between them, do they complete their bonding?? Well there sure are some really erotic sex scenes between them, I can tell you that much. Read the book to find out the entire story and how it works out. And even though this book reaches an ending of sorts, there are still more books to come in this series dealing with the other Cynn Cruor warriors and also still looking for Dac to end all of his evil plans. Just a reminder, the Cruors are human/shifter/vampires. I loved this book just as much as the first one and I have a funny feeling that I am going to love the rest too. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.

Love Deanna’s and Roarke’s story! Get your tissues and prepare for the emotional rollercoaster ride. The history between these two is jaw dropping. Deanna and Roarke have mated, they belong to each other, forever and ever. But, is forever a myth? Roarke lost Deanna when the Scatha destroyed his fastean. She died. He buried her. She was lost forever. He was to live his immortal life alone. He sees her one night and thinks his mind is playing tricks on him. But little did he know that she is alive and has been looking for him. They are once again in each other’s life and sparks fly! And these scenes are hot, Hot, HOT! But the past and the future threaten to keep them apart. Dac Valerian is still at it as evil as ever trafficking women and children. Deanna has seen this first hand and she along with the Cynn Cruor go after him to stop him. This is a beautiful story of incredible heartbreak but also amazing love.He once thought he would remain adrift forever, but she was his anchor, his safe haven. She was his strength and the love his eternal soul had searched for.You can’t help but to feel the love and despair within this story. Roarke’s fastean brothers come together but then split again. There are so many other stories that are about to come to light. I’m loving the Cynn Cruor series!

Wow Isobelle Cate, never fails to deliver a truly amazing read. Forever At Midnight is the second book in the Cynn Cruor Bloondline series. The story continues where the Cynn Cruor are searching for Dac Valerian, the Scartha Cruor, who is kidnapping women and children. This story has a mix of everything, action, mystery, suspense, hot sex and a wonderful unconditional love story. Roarke Hamilton see's his "mate," Deanna Logan who he thought had died and starts searching the streets of Manchester. The passion and drive between these characters is incredible, with Deanna believing he doesn't deserve her, but Roarke, will do anything to keep her. Only Deanna tries her hardest to hide the truth, until she is forced to reveal .Isobelle has a fantastic different approach on paranormal, clearly written giving you a wonderful insight, forgetting you really are reading a paranormal :)

I'll be the first to tell you I've not read a great deal of paranormal romance. That being said . . . Isobelle Cate's Cynn Cruor Bloodline series has me me wondering what's been holding me back. The way she writes her characters had me forgetting they were immortals. I found myself so drawn into the story that I was feeling right along with the characters, and that is something that is a must for me as a reader ~ I want to experience the story, not just read it.Looking forward to what Isobelle has waiting for me in the next novel in this series.

"Forever at Midnight" is book 2 in the Cynn Cruor Series. This book picks up where book 1 "Rapture at Midnight" left off. Before reading book 1 of this series, I was not a fan of Vampire/Paranormal Romance. Isobelle Cate won me over with "Rapture at Midnight" and "Forever at Midnight" did not disappoint either. Both are well written & the story flows easily. I enjoyed the characters & story. Looking forward to read what happens next with the Cynn Cruor.

Good addition to this series. I liked reading more about the characters from the first book but didn't find the story as intriguing as the first one but I will definitely read more in this series.
