In truth I can never let my family know what darkness haunts me, I am the key to destroying my family. And I would rather die than allow that. Copy provided by author in exchange for an honest reviewThe strike of a hand. A fist to the face. The spewing of hatred and vile words. The fear of a monster. The torment. The abuse. Broken bones. A fractured rib. A slap to the face. A belt whipping across your back. Endless amount of bruises and sexually abuse. For seven years, Evelyn Beaumont lived in her own personal hell. She was trapped and living in fear by a man she once trusted who violated and destroyed her leaving her broken and shattered. Can a woman who has been badly damaged and destroyed find it in herself to escape and face her fears? Will she find the strength to ask for help? Elemental fear is not a story that is light hearted. This book is raw, intense, dark and raises an awareness on domestic abuse. From an outsider, we can easily say what a person should of done the first time a hand is raised. It is easy to say but sometimes taking that first step is the hardest thing to do. Admitting and screaming to the world that abuse is happening sometimes is hard to do when fear has been implemented. And that's what happened in this book. It is a story of a young woman who wanted to protect her sisters from her boyfriend because she was fearful of what he was capable of doing. She was afraid that he would hurt them so she had to endure the abuse to protect them. While I may not agree with Evelyn's logic, I applaud the author for taking a chance and raising awareness that there are some people who are debilitated by fear. Fear can definitely hold a person back but for Evelyn it took her years to find the strength and courage to fight back. This book is so graphic and paints a raw portrayal of domestic abuse. While the story is heavily centered on abuse, Ms. Frost was still able to incorporate a love story of a broken woman finding salvation, strength and courage to live through the help of one man's undying love. And this worthy man didn't see a broken, fragile woman but a beautiful woman who is a survivor and fighter. So if you are looking for a book that needs to be heard of a woman's struggle to reclaim her life back, then I would give Elemental Fear a try. Overal rating: 3 starsTriggers:Cheating: (view spoiler)[ no(hide spoiler)]Love triangle: (view spoiler)[ no(hide spoiler)]Sex with om/ow: (view spoiler)[ This may not be a big deal for some, but the hero does have a GF for a portion of the book - maybe 25% before he breaks up with her. But you are okay with this as a reader because he is NEVER affectionate with his GF. It almost seems like they are at the end of the road and not even intimate behind closed doors. The hero is always so good to the heroine and always puts her first. The heroine also has a BF at the time. The very abusive brother of the hero. Anyway, after the heroine overhears the hero break up with his GF - I am like YAY! That's it, it's done and it wasn't bad because he never slept with her or was intimate with her from the start of this book. Well then, we don't see the hero again for awhile and come to find out later on, he DOES sleep with the ex GF again after the break up when he is helping her move.(hide spoiler)]HEA: (view spoiler)[ yes, but not enough!!!(hide spoiler)]Overal review:This was a tough one for me to review. It was a story that dealt with SEVERE descriptive physical and mental abuse of the heroine. It was her journey into removing this scum from her life and embracing true love. I did like the overall premise of this book, which is why I decided to read it. However, my issues stemmed from the hero. He just fell ... flat for me. I felt like another key character in the story, one of the heroine's good guy friends, was more of a hero in my opinion. He was there more for her when she was hurt and HE convinces her to go to the police. I felt like the hero could have grown a set of balls and fought for Eve. It's not like he thought (during the course of this book at least) that she was SO happy with his brother, Elliot. He could see how Elliot treated her verbally. He even ADMITTED to knowing that Elliot was probably cheating on her, YET he did nothing to intervene????? I'm sorry but that's just HORRIBLE! And he has been in love with the heroine for over 10 years and he let this go on? I realize he didn't know she was being physically abused by Elliot, but good Lord, he was still horrible to her. But then, the hero DOES break up with his long term GF of 6 years. You don't know much about her other than she dislikes Eve because she knows deep down that Dominic loves Eve. She isn't dumb, so yeah she hates Eve because she is stopping their relationship from taking the next step. But I honestly couldn't blame Vanessa. I mean, she was with Dominic for 6 years! That's 6 years of her life she can never get back. But still, he breaks up with her, so I'm thinking about this is about to get good! Well then, Dominic kind of disappears. We know he is the head of a business so he goes back and forth out of town for business. But he completely pulls away from Eve. There are rumors about him moving in now with Vanessa, but alas, that wasn't true but HE DOES SLEEP WITH HER AGAIN after they break up, when he is helping her move. I felt that that part could have been totally eliminated from the book. Because after the breakup and move, she is completely gone from the book. It did nothing but subtract major hero points for me. And of course, when the drama goes down, it is her good friend and not Dominic who is there. So Dominic as a hero, fell really flat for me. I'm sorry. I tried to like him.My 3 points come from Eve because I really liked her character. The abuse she went through was heart breaking and she actually had a legitimate reason to stay with him. It wasn't that she didn't feel worthy of anyone else (even though that WAS true) it was because she feared for the safety of her own family. Also, I really adored Johan and his role in this book. I cannot WAIT to read his story. I just know he will be a fantastic hero. And the writing style was nice. But honestly, I was so disappointed. Heroes make or break a story for me, and he almost completely broke this story for me. I almost DNF'd. We won't even talk about after he totally overreacts to a scene with Elliot (right after Eve comes clean to him about all the abuse she endured and they decide to get together). I mean, come on DOMINIC! This women was majorly abused and you see Elliot stalk up to her and kissing her and you think it's Eve cheating on you???? REALLY????? Ugh anyways enough of my rant!I can't wait to read Johan's book!!!!

Elemental Fear is not for the weak, or for those who can’t understand the fear and power the abuser has over their victims. I’ve always had an emotional heart when it comes to girlfriend/spouse abuse, and Elemental Fear is the first novel I’ve read that goes into such deep, dark depths of abuse. For me, even if I know it’s a fiction story with fictional characters, it still makes me angry. With abuse being a very real issue, I tend to get emotional when I read a novel like this. Now don't misunderstand my meaning. I thought this was an amazing, heart touching story with a very important message and with characters that I love. It's just my anger level goes up and I want to rip off the abuser's manhood (in this novel the abuser is a man) when I read this kind of story. Like I said, I get very emotional! Eve is twenty-six years old, and she’s been a victim of physical abuse for nine years. The abuse started when she was sixteen, and Eve is at that point of surrendering her mind and becoming broken—a shell of who she once was. The one person who always gave her a silent hope was Dominic, who’s been her secret love since she was six years old, her prince, her knight in shining armor, but he knows nothing about the hell she lives in with his brother, Elliott. To read Eve's story I had to really get into her character as an abused woman. Because as a woman who has never suffered abuse, it's normal for me to look at Eve and say "My God, Eve, just open your mouth. You’re giving this worthless piece of sh*t the power to keep you in fear." So, yes, Eve's character was a hard one for me, but I was able to see from her view point and see the fear and power that Elliot easily had imprisoned Eve with. Ada Frost is a talented writer. She pulled me into Eve's abusive relationship with Elliott, and I felt every bit of Eve's pain, fear, and emotion, in Eve's mind and heart. Now on a happy note, I love Johan. Johan and Eve work together at the same office and they become best friends. I’m not going to spoil Johan and Eve's relationship for you, I’m just going to tell you I love this guy so much. And I'm begging Ada Frost to write Johan's story.Elemental Fear is about abuse and it's on a hardcore level. So if you can't approach Eve's story with openness, and see it from her point of view, the fear and shame she lives in for herself and others she loves and wants to protect, then please just don't read this book. Because the author deserves to be rewarded for writing about this difficult subject. It’s my hope that a teen girl or woman who is in this kind of relationship may read Eve’s story and be able to see that fear should not enslave her to her abuser. Elemental Fear is an emotional, dark story, but ends with the light of hope, healing, and freedom. I recommend as a must read. Some of my Favorite Quotes: " don't want me that way. You mean all this time I've been wooing you and you aren't interested. I've used my best moves on you woman!" ****He chuckled "listen, would you be asking these questions if I had a hole instead of a pole?" 'What?"**** "You know...have you and he done the horizontal tango, have you ridden the Dominic express, fu--" "I understand you." I snapped before she continued her tirade.*** "Good morning sunshine, it's always such a pleasure to see you." He replied condescendingly. "Piss off." she snapped stomping up the stairs. "Such a social butterfly. " He laughed.****My Favorite Eve and Dominic Swoon: There were no words to describe how delicious his lips felt, I wanted to feel more to taste more and the longer he held me to him the more the urge became uncontrollable. I parted my lips slightly and sucked softly on his lower lip. His hands gripped at my skin, he needed me as much as I needed him. He opened his mouth; I felt his tongue teasing my lips open further. I couldn't resist, I opened taking him in, I tangled my tongue with his, licking, sucking devouring his mouth. I'd never felt this desire before, I felt it everywhere.

This is the kind of story that makes me appreciate my husband for being such a good guy. A lot! A brutal show of just how tragic domestic violence is, Elemental Fear doesn't sugar coat what happens to Eve. Some scenes were just so awful for the poor heroine, I wasn't sure I'd have the stomach to keep reading, but then a Dominic and Eve scene would come in and I kept getting sucked right back into the romance part of the story. And then there was the suspense of wondering if everything was going to end up happily ever after or heartbreaking right up to the very end.And Johan...happy sigh. Have I mentioned how much I'm in love with Johan yet? Can't believe it wasn't the first thing I said. If he doesn't a get book soon...well he just better get a book soon!! So happy for Ada Frost in completing her debut novel!

My favourite type of reads other than dark are books that rip out my soul and just leaves it hanging in a dark black hole. Books that leave you an emotional wreck for days, books that break your heart into a million pieces and books that you know will stay with you for LIFE. So when I picked up Elemental Fear By Ada Frost I knew I had found the book I was looking for, & god she did NOT disappoint. I actually don't know where to start with this review. I'm scared I won't even do the book justice but I'm going to give it a try.   We first meet Eve and Do-nic (Dominic) from the prologue and it was just such a cute little scene, I ended up falling in love with him from then. So when I started reading the first chapter I realised its nine years later and she ended up with his brother Elliott & I was like WHAT!?!? WHY!!! Elliott is the most vilest human I have ever read about, what he did to my Eve it will forever haunt me. The how and why they ended up together was disgusting and evil and any man should die a nasty death for treating a woman like that. I HATE HIM. I HATE HIM. I HATE HIM. To be honest hate isn't even a strong enough word to describe what I feel about him. I wish he was alive just so I could stab him repeatedly in his neck and then watch him bleed out, morbid right? Once you've read this book you'll understand why I feel the way I do about him. I HATE HIM. He is pure evil.   My beautiful strong girl Eve no body will ever understand the love I have for her, she was abused mentally and physically and let me say some scenes were so hard to read, they tore your heart out, it was like you wanted to climb into the book and just hold her so fucking tight and not let her go, I swear I needed and wanted to give her all my love & just so show her love is not meant to hurt. Not like that no way. Some will say why didn't she just get up and leave, don't get me wrong she was offered a olive branch and she didn't take it and at the time even I thought come on Eve BUT I got it. Until you are in the situation you will NEVER understand the fear they have for their abuser, it's not as easy just to get up and leave like people say, your mind is conditioned to be and act a certain way, it isn't just easy to return back to the woman you was before,  And I'm glad Ada portrayed her that way, you needed to see everything she went through to fully understand why she was the woman she was, and to me she was so damn strong. I most likely would of killed myself before i suffered what she did, so that makes me weak, and My Eve was far from it. Certain scenes had my eyes pouring with tears, sometimes it wasn't even when the evil came to destroy her, it was just in little things she would say, or even the way she would act had my heart bleeding for her. There is one scene that will forever live in my mind and I cried for Eve so damn much it was that point you knew he had fully broke her.   Dominic the white prince, the saviour the man you would want for your daughter. He is the man that your dreams are made up of. I loved him so much, he was the man Eve should of ALWAYS ended up with, he was her strength when he didn't even realise it, he was her life and soul and it was so damn beautiful to read. The Princess became lost but her Prince was always waiting for her to become lost with him. And when they got lost in each other, it was just stunning to read.   I need to talk about my boo Jonah let me take a minute to say he is one in a million he is the man every single girl needs as a best friend. I LOVE HIM. I LOVE HIM. I LOVE HIM. What he did for Eve I can't even begin to tell you, but everything he did or said was beautiful. She needed him in her life more than he realised I think. The last scene had my heart splitting into two, I wanted to wrap him in my arms and tell him everything would be okay. Even though I DIDNT EVEN KNOW MYSELF. I can't wait to read his book.   Ada had me for a hot second I didn't know what to feel or think I was like no this can not be happening! Ada draws you into the world/life of Eve and sometimes it was hard to read and you just wanted to scream why? The other moments had me giggling, and then you had the moments that filled my heart up with so much love. I wasn't ready to let Eve go honestly I love her so much. I'm so happy I picked up this baby, Ada I applaud you lady, you did an amazing job with this book and I can not WAIT to read more from you. 5 Magical Stars.

You fucking gutted me! You ripped my chest open and shredded my heart. I balled my fucking eyes out. I have been dying to read a heart wrenching ugly cry book and many have fallen short. But this fucking book! Gah, THIS BOOK!!!! Ada, you fucking nailed it!!!! I could not tear myself away from this one.Evelyn Beaumont is a 24 year old woman who tries to live her life as normal looking from the outside but she hides the truth from everyone. She lives her life in fear. She has spent years getting abused physically, mentally and emotionally. My heart broke for Evelyn. She is put through some horrendous abuse at the hands of a man that is supposed to love her. Her boyfriend, Elliot, is such a disgusting fucker. He is very manipulative and controlling. There are some scenes which may be hard to get through for some. I know I had to take a breather at times because I was crying so hard, sobbing and my vision was tear-blurred. I took a deep breath and dived right back in.”I walked in the front door humming “we are young” and froze. The blood drained from my face, my heart froze mid-beat, and my ears buzzed as the blood whooshed away. Elliott sat at the dining table, staring at me with a serpent’s grin, ready to strike any moment.”This book was so emotionally draining. Ada brings us such an emotional heart touching story. The story line was fantastic, very well written, and draws you in from the very beginning. The characters are very well developed and I loved each of them. Evelyn has a loving family, her parents are so loving and caring, her sisters are absolutely adorable and loveable, and her best friends are amazing. I absolutely love how her friend Johan is flirty, funny, caring, loving and such a great support for Evelyn. And then we have her best friend since she was five years old, Dominic. Oh Dominic! He is the brother of her boyfriend Elliot, but she has been secretly in love with him since she first laid eyes on him. He is so caring, loving, funny, sexy, smart, patient and a really great guy.“There’s sunshine outside of the dark scary cave, Eve, you just have to believe and take that step.”This is a definite MUST read. Make sure to have your tissues handy. It is definitely worth it!!!

Find This and Other Reviews At Craves The Angst.I was gifted this eARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.4 Fearful, Surviving Stars!Brutal and Heavy! This Story Delves Deep Into the Struggles of Domestic Abuse but Also Shows the Power of Love, Family and Friendships! The Review:Elemental Fear was a harrowing story of one woman's strength and determination to overcome the horrific circumstances she fell into. It’s not for the weak of heart and there are some very disturbing things that happen to her throughout the story, but I’m so glad I read this one. As anyone who knows me can attest, I love my angsts. I love a dark story and the bravery that comes from the characters as they fight their way out of their circumstances. They can be broken, shattered and irreparably damaged in the process, but if they come out in the end, stronger, livelier and with full hearts, then I can say the journey was well worth the time spent. This is very much that kind of story.Story/Characters...Eve finds her life has totally spiraled out of control and all at the hands of an unstable villain hellbent on destroying her from her very core. Her boyfriend, Elliot, berates her, abuses her, humiliates her, breaks her in every way possible and then blames her for all of it. He’s a monster posing as a man who loves her. Through fear, intimidation, threats and outright violence, he’s stolen away so much of her self-respect and self-worth and she believes she deserves the anger, hate and abuse he unleashes on her. He’s the epitome of evil, covering his weaknesses and hate for himself by disguising it as a morbid, warped form of love. Yeah, I hated Elliot with a bloody passion!Eve has endured this torture for nine years and she’s been twisted to believe it’s to keep her family safe. Elliot has talked her down from the beautiful, self assured young woman she was becoming and he’s almost taken all her will to fight. But what I loved most about Eve’s character was as hard as Elliot tried to completely destroy her, there’s still a spark in her crying out for a life and love she thought lost to her. And it was in the form of her best friend, Dominic. I was captivated by her character and her story. She was easy to relate to as a woman and her story was a familiar one to me so I felt for her and what she was going through. She needed a good support structure to escape the nightmare she was living through and like so many normal families who love and support each other, Eve’s didn’t realize what was happening until it was almost too late. Dominic, Elliott's brother and Eve’s best friend from childhood, is the light in all the darkness and their friendship and her feelings for him keep Eve going. He is totally swoon worthy with his patience, love and the care he shows Eve after he finds out what’s been going on and it’s breathtaking. It’s just what she needed to show her how wonderful love is supposed to be and what kindness in intimacy should feel like. Not to mention the man is sexy as sin!She also makes a wonderful friend, Johan, who I simply adored. Johan’s experience in this type of situation and their uncomplicated friendship gave her a wise sounding board and a comforting starting point for the help she so desperately needed. I loved him! From the beginning to the climatic end, this read held a very real and hellish journey for it’s characters within the pages and the suffering Eve endures was extreme. I wanted her to speak out and take her power back. I wanted her to break free from that demon-man-child! I wanted her to yell from the top of her lungs that she wasn’t going to take it anymore. Elliot’s intimidation was ingrained so deep inside her, the fear overpowered her most of the story but this woman is so much stronger than she thought possible. I loved that she held on, just a little bit, even in the darkest of times. This book was raw and unrestrained and scary and I loved the emotional “feel” I got from it. In fact, when I started it, I couldn’t put it down, reading straight through to the end. So many women and children live this stark kind of reality and it’s heartbreaking. As a side note, I also really loved the dialect and the uniquely Yorkshire lingo which was fun to decipher. That grandpa was something else ;)And that ending?? Totally rocked my world in all it’s gut-wrenching emotion, high intensity and courageous wonderment! Such a great read all around. The Wrap Up:This is Ada Frost’s debut novel and she did an outstanding job bringing Eve’s story to life. I enjoyed the writing style and her penchant for angsts was spot on. I can’t wait to read Johan’s story in the near future. He’s got a lot on his mind and I can’t wait to see more of his back story.

  • KC-- Reading Is My Superpower

I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review**Warning--this book is not for everyone. There is severe domestic abuse situations that may not sit well with everybody**This book is very different than anything else I have read. It was real, it was raw. It was heart wrenching, but it was true... it was like the author had climbed into the mind of an abuse victim and plucked out all the parts that no one understands. I say that, because everyone thinks that there is no way they would tolerate or put up with this kind of abuse, but, as a survivor of domestic abuse-10 years of it- I can promise you, that even the strongest of woman can be found in a bad situation.I loathed Elliot-- and I think that was the point. He is cruel, viscous, selfish, controlling, and abusive beyond what most people can comprehend. Eve is in love with Dominic- Elliots brother. She has been since she was 5 years old. But in a brilliant scheme from Elliot, he convinces Eve that Dominic doesnt want her, and begins to weasel his way in. Before she knows what happened, Eve is living in a nightmare. Emotionally beat down, mentally broken, she goes day to day trying not to upset Elliot. This is where the book was so real. The author was really able to capture the mind of an abused woman. The thought process, the fear, the worry, the constant battle to change and morph into the person they think they need to be. The way they blame themselves and think that if they had only done something different they wouldnt of deserved the beating they had received. It is a twisted reality that they live in.Dominic loves Eve. He loves her with every ounce of his being. He doesn't want a life that doesn't involve her. And as he sits back and watches from the shadows thinking Eve is happy, he is devastated when he learns the truth. Once I started reading, I couldnt put it down. I devoured it, and by the end I was emotionally wrung out and totally wrecked. It is an emotional roller coaster that throws you to and fro because there are times you think you know the ending and then you get moved in another direction. Tears were shed, and hope bloomed, as I cheered for Eve to get her HEA. And although this is not a cliffhanger, the author ended it brilliantly set up for another book....If you are looking for fluff and rainbows, you wont find it here. What you will find is a story that will rock you to your core and captivate you. And I warn you, may of you will not believe that this is real stuff... but I promise you, it's as real as it gets.

The minute she uttered the words "its not your fault, its mine" i knew that I would not continue with this book, The debilitating fear oozing from the FC in this story was overwhelming and I stopped reading at 25%. I couldn't read any further - I would probably blow a gasket!13 April - well I did finish it with a major blood pressure hike.

4 conflicted starsI'm in a bit of a dilemma with my rating. I loved the story, it was honest, gritty and brutal - the author pulled no punches. Eve endured years of horrific abuse and this is where it gets sticky for me. I get that she was only 16 when Elliot started with his crap so I get that she had no idea how to handle his threats and abuse. But this went on for NINE years!! She still lived with her parents, how in the everloving eff did NO-ONE see what was happening? I get that she was ashamed, terrified and blamed herself for what was happening because she was so brainwashed by the Douche Nozzle that she couldn't speak out, but come on! After nine years someone should have worked out that, as her injuries were at times so horrific, something more than just being clumsy was going on. I'm struggling to overlook that no-one else picked up on what was happening apart from Johan. That leads me nicely into Johan, every girls needs one of him - what a totally awesome friend he was to her. As a work colleague he was the only one who picked up on what was happening whilst her close family walked around with their heads up their backsides. He totally saved the story.Dominic - hmmmm I'm a bit apathetic about him. He stood on the sidelines for YEARS, waiting and hoping that Eve would chose him. He really needed to grow a damn pair and claim her years before, brother to Elliot or not. He could see how introverted and afraid of life she was and that she was getting worse, yet. He. Did. Nothing. NOTHING!!! No, see that does not work for me. When I read I want the hero to go all out bat shit crazy for his girl, even beating his chest roaring "mine" if necessary. Dominic was a girl for a large part of the book, which saddened me. That said, he owned his missing what was going on, and once he woke up he was perfect for Eve, who eventually gets her happy. I love how patient Dominic was with her once the abuse was out in the open, he respected her boundaries, encouraged and coddled her but for me it was a tad bit too late.I also did not like how the author took the story as regards Elliot. (view spoiler)[It was too clean and convenient and I wanted to see the bastard pay. (hide spoiler)]There was a fair bit of editing issues, things that should have been picked up but it didn't spoil the read for me. I was sucked in from the prologue and couldn't put it down.

'What?"I loved Dominic and Johan these two guys made me keep pushing threw the nasty, the Reward at the end was awesome!!Now I had goosebumps and I had to skim the abuse but other then that it was really good read, I am so honored that I was able to read it, I just which I had the right words to say. 4 stars Why?? Because it was a little long for me, that the only thing i that was standing in my way from a 5 star and the abuse but you have to have that in there for the story to work, im mature enough to understand that now that I've left it for a few days to think on!!Every one should read this.. It's such a scary and real thing that Happens and we should be aware of it Ada Frost has written it so real and raw that it feels so real and scary.I thank you Kc for choosing me to read and review this story that took me out of my little happy bubble!!There were no words to describe how delicious his lips felt, I wanted to feel more to taste more and the longer he held me to him the more the urge became uncontrollable.

Wow. Just. Wow. I was looking for an ugly cry book, Surviving Love was recommended. I wanted to read book one first. Holy fucking shit! I am terrified, TERRIFIED to read the next book. This book ripped me apart, it made me cry! ME! The ice queen, that's what I call myself. I can count on one hand the books that made me cry like this, so bravo Ms. Frost! I don't even know how to write this review, there's no way I can give this book justice. I can tell you this was one of those books that rips you apart, every word breaking your heart piece by piece. I loved every single word until the end. I was sucked in and could not put this book down until it was over. I felt my heart breaking as read about Eve's life, she is the strongest person ever. She survived so much just to protect the ones she loved. I can't even begin to imagine the hell she lived, the pain she suffered, the heartache at knowing she couldn't have the one she loved most in life. How in the hell someone can put another through the things Elliot did is beyond me. He was sick and twisted and made me want to throw my kindle. I was hoping he'd what was coming to him. How could his brother Dominic be the total opposite? Dominic is the sweetest, caring man and he just wants to take care of Eve, knowing he can't have her because she belongs to his brother. My heart ached for the love Eve had for Dominic but was forced to live a agonizing miserable life. I am still thinking about this book, weeks later. I think I am healed enough to start Surviving Love. This book is not for the faint of heart, this book is not a head over heels in love romance story. This book will bring the toughest to their knees, and rip their heart out, repeatedly. This is the kind of book I love, the kind the makes me feel, that can pull me right into the story. Ada did an amazing job with this story, domestic violence isn't pretty and I'm sure it was very hard to write. I can't wait to read more by this amazing author!

You can't help but feel the fear Eve has enduredI don't know how I found this book but OMG this is one of those reads that sucks you in because of the content. If you can't handle the violent abuse and manipulation then please don't read this book. The emotional abuse alone was bad enough and then throw in the actual physical abuse and BAM! you have a story that will tear you to shreds. So many times I wanted to reach into my iPad and beg Eve to tell someone. Don't be afraid. Then again it is often the case with abuse that people don't do that. They continue to accept what is happening to them because they are afraid of the repercussions and this story is a prime example of that. Eve has been manipulated into a relationship with Elliott and for years suffers from his abuse. She hides her pain, hides her bruises, hides herself from everyone. Dominic is Eve's best friend and also Elliott's brother. He is also the man Eve loves more than anything but due to miscommunication and life she never gets to tell him about her feelings. There were a few occasions where opportunities were there over the years but for whatever reason it just didn't pan out. There were several key moments where I literally did fist pumps because of what happened. Then there were moments were I held my breathe and didn't realize it until certain lines were read and I started breathing again. This story was very emotional for me. I not only read Eve's story, I felt her pain. I felt her fear. When an author can make that happen with their readers then they make that story so much more real. Ada Frost, thank you for giving us this story. FYI. This ending is a doozy so be prepared.

Copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review.Let me start by saying, I really enjoyed this book! I was looking for something different and an emotional read and I found it! Elemental Fear is a book that really takes you through the ringer. My emotions were all over the place on this one and I loved that I was able to connect with the characters. I was able to feel the pain, fear, and heartache that Evelyn was going through. My heart just broke for her and everything she had to endure. No person should have to go through some of the horrendous things that Evelyn did. I really don't want go into much detail on this review because I think you need to just jump in and feel the emotions pouring off the pages for yourself. I will say that Eve is in a very abusive relationship and feels trapped. Her fear is so strong and overwhelming that she stays quiet and takes the abuse time after time. Dominic is Eve's best friend and the brother of Eve's boyfriend Elliot. Where Elliot is the darkness in Eve's life, Dominic is the light. I just loved Dominic. He really is a knight in shining armor! His love for Evelyn is so obvious and he is such a sweetheart. When he finds out what has been happening with Eve, it totally wrecks his world. Like I said, I'm not giving much away as far as details go in this one because I think you need to just dive in! So, if you're looking for a book that sucks you in and won't let you go then definitely check out Elemental Fear! You will not be disappointed with this one! Ada Frost is an awesome writer and I can't wait to read some more of her work!

I knew that this book would be great, even if it was hard to read because of the plot. Eve has loved Dominic her entire life, but she is in a relationship with his brother Elliot, because he manipulates her and abuses her. Domestic violence is a big problem these days and Eve's story sounded quite real, which made it difficult to read. There were moments, when I couldn't understand why and how Elliot was so cruel and evil. To be honest, Ada Frost changed my mind about the victims of domestic violence. At first Eve's fear was really foreign for me (Thank God) and I couldn't understand her, why couldn't she say or do something against him. The more I was reading, the more I was learning. Eve is a survivor - she managed to stay alive despite the hell, she was living. But in the end, thanks to Dominic and Johan, she became also a fighter, a warrior - she was fighting the fear of being a victim, of loosing her heart and mind entirely. I think Ada Frost has done a brilliant job explaining that the victims of domestic violence don't deserve this and it's not their fault - these people need to hear this more and one day hopefully they will believe in it. Of course I loved Dominic and how sweet he was with Eve. I wished he could be more protective and possessive or to fight for Eve from the beginning, but I guess then the story wasn't going to be so real and truthful. Johan is the other hero, who's story I can't wait to read.

DeepGuttingHorrendousSad this exist in the real worldBRUTALThis book was not perfect. Grammar errors like crazy. Areas where there was too much detail, other times there wasn't enough. This was a long, hard, painful read. The abuse was nerve wrecking for me to read and I kept asking why doesn't anyone see the clues, why is everything lined up so perfect.. They are always on holiday?????? She was in a cast for Gods sake. But.... BUT, I couldn't stop. I had to finish so I could see and pray to God there was an HEA. I have read one other book that I really could pass harm onto the characters and this one now makes 2. Elliott didn't deserve what he got. He needed to be tortured. My stomach was hurling at the last 30%. At 50% I was honestly over it all and really needed something goodto happen. I do wish there was more build up in the prologue and def scrubbed a bit more to understand the dynamics with the characters bc that took a bit to grasp. I'm rating this a 3. At times it was all of the stars but I think a middle rating is suffice. It needs work, but it made me want to hurt someone and made my stomach clinch, made me smile and made me furious. So for all feelings it gets 3 stars “That man is definitely not interested in you . Us men, we all stare like that at woman we don’t find enchanting.”

EmotionalRawIntense I loved this book could not put it down, it broke me down bit by bit until I was an emotional wreck.Elliott character was a monster! I just wanted to jump threw the book and throttle him! He did not deserve Eve at all!Eve, was a wonderful character loved her! She had no choice but to be with Elliott and put up with the abuse that he gave her... Broke my heart! DOMINIC! Hell yes I want one of these! Loved him! Strong sexy hot! Yum! Eve and Dominic were meant to be together. They've been best friends since they were children. But when Dominic leaves for college, Elliott steps and swoons Eve... But the more she gets to no him the more she doesn't feel that way for him.... But one night changes everything and Eve has no choice but to stay with Elliott. Elliott is cruel, manipulative, controlling. And he destroys Eve little by little taking everything from her. The books keeps you hanging on to the edge of your seat! And toward the end of the book I was cheering! So glad I read this book! I cried until my tear ducts were empty! Eve character is amazing! This book is not for the faint hearted, I was with the characters all the way throughout the book, the sad happy cruel and downright evil times it kept me hooked! Now on a happier note Jonah's book! I want a HEA a for him! Please please please! Brilliant read will be recommending!

Oh my goodness, this book just gutted me. It was agonizing to read about Eve's fears and the horrors she faced alone. I cannot even imagine living like that. To be so manipulated and live in such fear of another person like that. To have those you love used against you. And it just kept on and one until finally around 70% of the book. I feel like Ada Frost gave me a better understanding of domestic abuse and what goes through a woman's mind in situations like that and why it's not just a simple walk away thing. Dominic was so perfect for Eve and it is amazing how love can give you an inner power and strength that you never knew you had. Johan, God bless that man. He was the perfect friend for Eve and I think she made a difference in him as well. Overall this was really well written, very difficult to read at times, but so good in the end.

Evelyn Beaumont has had a terrifying secret she has been hiding from the people that love her. She hid this secret in order to protect her family. But what happens when you’re tired of hiding?Just reading the summary of this book and my heart is pounding. This is a very dark, intense and emotional story. But totally worth the risk.I had to take a breather for a few minutes quite a bit during each chapter. I had to immediately pick it back up. I just couldn’t put it down. I just had to find out what was going to happen next, a page turner, to say the least. You won’t walk away disappointed. And this just may stay with you for a while.I do recommend this book.

This book is not for the faint of heart and deals with some heavy issues such as domestic abuse and rape. That being said, this was one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. Beautiful as in seeing Eve come out the other side of this horrible, gut wrenching 'relationship'. The story is definitely emotional and had me crying huge tears at points. The epilogue had me dying, and I was pretty sure I was not going to like Ada anymore. I LOVED seeing Eve and Dominic come together and my heart ached at their obvious love for one another. The supporting cast is wonderful and leaves a lot to be built upon for later books!

I can't believe this book is the first one from this author. It was so good and well written. It was not an easy reading. Sometimes, I had to put my kindle down, take a big breath and only then I could go on. I also wanted to scream : "Are you all blind???"So it was not an easy read, due to domestic abuse situations, but I fell in love with Eve and Dominic. They are perfect together, he heal her by loving her and their love for each other is so beautiful!!!!Now I cannot wait to read Johan's book. I love him so much in this book and I hope he'll have his HEA.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!I LOVE THE STORY!I LOVE THE CHARACTERS!I LOVE THE PLOT!I LOVE THE WRITER!While i was reading this book though, so many things went through my head like, oh she could've been stronger, oh she should've just told someone about it, oh don't you know you're best friend is in love with you? But it's okay becasue this is the kind of book you don't want to change anything.

I read Surviving Love first and as soon as I finished I started on Eve' s story. First this story is about domestic violence and the aftermath. Ada's words allow you to feel the pain and fear that Eve felt at the hands of her abuser. How his words and actions penetrated her very soul. You will also witness the love that helps to heal. Amazing story, Ada. I cannot say enough. I could go into further details, but you should read this book.

This was a tough read at times due to the nature of the content but Ada Frost's writing is so phenomenal, you can't help but fall in love with the story. She handled this difficult subject matter with so much grace. The focus felt more about strength and perseverance through turmoil and the ability to still believe in love instead of the domestic abuse. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Great, Suspenseful read!I was skeptical when I read the description, I am used to sappy romance novels. However, this book grabbed my attention quick and I could not put it down. I LOVE the happy ending, had me in tears!

One of the best books I have read this year! I don't think I've ever cried so much in a book. There was time I had to put it down, it became to much. There some parts that I wanted to yell and throw my kindle... This book was so good and so sad. I fell in love with Eve & Dominic.
