I could've enjoyed this story if everything wasn't dished out in quadruple scoops. I love German chocolate ice cream, but, while one scoop is heavenly & two scoops are a sinful indulgence, three, four, or more becomes nauseating & unpalatable. The latter is this book. Over the top? He's rich. He lives in a shithole and wants a roommate, but one that is basically a deaf, mute with no desire to be friends. ~o-o-okay~ He has been burned bad by a woman & swears off relationships, but immediately goes straight to "baby," "my girl" "mine" with the female MC who tells him plainly that she's most certainly going to hurt him. Again, o-o-okay! She's a sheltered princess that knows the value of a scrubbed toilet, how to slum it, and has aspirations within gritty tattoo parlors. Nah, ain't buying that triple scoop. I believe if I was going to run away with death as a damn consequence & had a family soooo rich, I might've ensured I had enough money to get out of the city before running off. Unbelievable. Rich girls would've had credit cards to get cash advance from, rich people shit to sell that would've gotten her far away, etc.. Not buying this one either. I got it... He's a Seal & she's a danger to even the toughest Mf out there; No need to keep telling me every five seconds! It seems the author assumes her readers are very dense because she tells and retells details multiple, multiple, multiple times. Repetitive doesn't even begin to describe it; it should've been a 100 page story max. I also found it highly hypocritical and offensive that all these easy peezy girls were good enough before, but he had a mental diatribe where he degrades them. Don't do that shit! Say they ain't for you anymore, but don't flip switches & start being a hollier-than-tho scumbag asshole! Any sex appeal he had went out the door! Sadly, this story is just too much, too fast, too big with EVERY damn plot point to be remotely believable. I don't recommend!

I feel like I just read this same story in four other books recently from the fighter/sweet girl dominant male sex story. It all sounded the same to me. Nothing made this story really stand out any different from the others even though I wanted it to. Its not poorly written its just more of the same.It ends on what felt like a cliff hanger so maybe the second book is needed but for now I'm not interested enough to find out.Alpha Fighter is currently listed for Free on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.  Ava Ashley        Krissys Bookshelf Reviews has a QR code for your phone!  Krissy's Bookshelf Reviews received a digital copy. 3.75 Stars!I really liked the premise of this book, MMA hot Alpha male, yeap sign me up. Girl runs away from MC dad/family, yeap this is going to be good. It was enjoyable, I liked it, but I have a few corks with it. First the story is good, a little predictable, but that was fine. The things that bothered me were some of the repeated sayings: "She is my girl" "I am a Navy Seal, I have the training" not perfect quotes, but you get the idea. I like these phrases just not so frequently that they lose their punch. Also the first time they have sex that scene I felt was missing something. Not sure I could picture him calling his friend buddy either, somethings, not many seemed out of character. Now with all that said I do plan to read the second book, I am curious to see how everything turns out,and it was an enjoyable read.

This was an interesting read. But having trouble with defining my feelings. I guess I'm on the fence. For every good there is a bad in this book. First off I did like the heroine. She was strong and independent and was willing to sacrifice anything to not be under someone's thumb. I actually like all the characters. They all seemed genuine and real. The reality of what was going on did not feel real. I have read many motorcycle club books and this is the first to have a set up rivaling royalty. Literally! Marriage contracts to settle wars. The heroine is kept pure for her fiancé she had since she was a child. Sorry, but I can't imagine there is any virgins under the age of 16 in a MC. Im being dramatic but most clubs have club whores and are usually pretty casual about sex. They are not Puritan and condensing about sexuality. They embrace it. So, This was beyond realistic. I did really like the hero Cooper. Once he committed to his girl he was all in and I loved his My girl and Mine comments all the time. I know lame but I still love it. I typically prefer one love and yes he claimed he loved his ex but honestly I really didn't feel it. But what did bother me is when a hero uses the same romantic quote to describe his ex and the heroine. It's like a bad pickup line. But in all honesty from what I know of Copper it was not his character but more just a fluke by the author. Like its the only romantic quote she could come up with. I didn't let it ruin my vision of Cooper. Note to authors don't use exact romantic quotes from the hero to describe Ex/Heroine. It's a mood killer. I mean if a guy tells every girl he dates the same song is there song it's actually pathetic. Same goes for great lines don't be repetitive. It loses its meaning if he uses it with everyone.

This book had very little character development. As a result, I wasn't really vested in these characters. The plus side is that I didn't dislike either the H or h. The pacing was too fast. Not enough time spent bringing to life the situations and events that occurred in the book. In a nutshell, gorgeous girl runs away from home and arranged fiance. Both groom and bride are the children of powerful opposing biker gang families. After running away, she rents a room from an equally gorgeous tatted up ex Navy Seal but current MMA fighter. Instant attraction (I liked that - makes the romance believable) and soon after feelings begin to develop between the two. I'll refrain from writing the next events so I don't spoil the book, but I will say it ends in a cliffy. I bought book 2 when I bought book 1 (it was $0.99). I'll definitely be reading it. This book isn't horrible, but it definitely isn't one of the better quality material books I've read much less one of the best. To each their own. Perhaps someone else won't be as picky as me. I myself give this 2.5 stars, but I'll round up to 3 because I didn't dislike the characters thereby making it possible for me to read the second book.

*3 - 3,5 messy stars*this was quite fast, classic fighter with special SEAL skills that falls for a forbidden girl on the run from her background (and unwanted position as a motorcycle princess promised future wife to another motorcycle prince who's also a fighter). see, where I'm going with this kinda plot...ha, then you're the lucky one, cause I had no effin idea...LOLat times it was so ridiculous...that I just couldn't believe itshe hides the truth from our hero and when the circumstances go against her she runs from him without explanation - he goes after her BUT so do the bikers...somewhere in the middle I started laughing as there was nothing more to expect from the book...but I will go to the second book to see how that one will end up...

Actual Rating: 3.25This was an alright read. I thought the premise was really good. It is a story about how an MMA alpha male fighter falls in love with an MC princess. This is my first Ava Ashley book and it definitely will not be my last. I did enjoy this book, but I did find some problems with it as well. I thought the characters were enjoyable, but they did not have much depth to them. I would have liked to see that, so that I could have made more of a connection to the characters. Also, the story was good. I love the slow-burn type of romances because I get to see how they fell in love. This is a love story that ended in a cliffhanger. I will read the second book to see how the story ends, and I can't wait. Overall, an okay read.

This was an okay read if you don't mind suspending reality at points. I didn't like that it was a cliff hanger. I wasn't a fan of parts of the plot (runaway MC princess gets job in tattoo parlor obviously very close to home if she is running into her ex and his sister - therefore making me think the heroine is an idiot).

I was blown away with this kindle unlimited read. You find many want to be authors in the unlimited book share with not much talent. However occasionally I have come across some unknown to me author like Ashley that make my subscription worth it! I just hope that when Ashley makes it big, she doesn't forget her strapped for cash fans, like myself. Excellent writing and a great story.

3.5-4 Solid Stars I received both books complimentary of the author. This is my first read by this author and I have to say that I am impressed. I loved the underlying premise of the story as well as the characters.I think Author Ava Ashley has a lot of potential. I would like to see the characters have more depth to them. As much as I enjoyed and liked Savannah and Cooper they were one dimensional. I needed more "maturity" at times but with the right amount of development, lots of great potential. The storyline itself was good but again needs some growth. It started off very well but then sort of stayed at the same pace. I wouldn't have minded a tad bit more angst and drama. I loved Savannah and Cooper but would have really loved even more time with them together, growing as a couple. I love a slow-build up and although their circumstances were unique in which I understood, I still want my couple to fully connect on every level. The sex scenes were good between the two as well but she went from 0-100 way too fast for me under her circumstances but still it was enjoyable.Overall a very good read for me and I will definitely be jumping into the next book immediately for their conclusion!

Savannah is on the run. She is an MC princess who is promised to her daddy's biker rival's son Noah. However, a few weeks before her 18th birthday she finds her so called fiancee in bed with her friend. So, what does she do? She runs!Me, I would have had a sob fest, told my daddy and waited for him to beat Noah's face in.She is tired of living with bedbugs so she moves out of the motel and finds a one bedroom, one window, no AC to rent from Cooper.Cooper, man-sl*t, former Seal, current MMA fighter, easy on the eyes but scared of relationships.. So what do a girl that's running from her future and a man that is running from feelings have in common?

I liked the story of this one, it was solid and plausible, the only thing that bugged me a little is that both Cooper and Savannah seemed to have the same voice. I think it would have been nice to have distinct voices in their pov chapters.Still, definitely reading the next one!

Alpha Fighter – Part 1 Bk 1 – The Alpha Fighter Series – Written by Ava AshleyWhen you're running from everything you have ever know, where do you go?Savannah Santos is on the run, almost out of options and cash. She fled everything she ever knew to follow her career dreams and not endanger anyone by getting too close. But she wasn't expecting her new roommate to be her dream guy. For Cooper Quin, being any girl's dream man is nothing new, but he's determined to stay exactly that: a dream. His focus is on killing it in the brutal MMA ring. With a dark past of pain and betrayal, falling in love is the last thing he intends to do. But his sexy new roommate is nothing like one of his usual one-night stands. With her, it feels safe to let his guard down. Cooper knows a little about running from the past; Savannah's is still looking for her. He can't leave her alone, but pursuing her might be the MMA fighter's undoing. She knows she can't stay forever--not with a closet full of skeletons that are threatening to burst open and destroy everything. What did I like? Savannah is the ultimate female lead character! A fighter in her own right and she does not let anything stand in her way. How will she deal with the fact that she just moved in with the man of her dreams? What will you like? I really don’t know much about MMA fighting and this book does a really good job of explaining it. I did go online and do a little research and was very satisfied that this gives a pretty good accounting of the fight world. I sure wish that I would have met someone like Cooper! The man is the ultimate find for a mate and with the problems that fall on his doorstep he handles it like a pro! I received this from the author for an honest review with no other compensation.

Well written and very fast paced. From the first page you are hooked. Cooper has a room to rent that is cheap. Savannah is on the run and looking for a place to stay. She has her own secrets and demons that she will tell no one about.Cooper is a MMA fighter who has his own secrets and understands what it is like running from them. She is beautiful and he is very attractive...so you can imagine what could happen? The Author has done an exceptional job of weaving in numerous story lines without causing confusion. I now look forward to reading Part 2 of this series.I do not like to give any of the story away since I feel that it ruins it but I strongly recommend this book if you like action, suspense and a great story.

Savannah has run away from a life that is dangerous. After being out of money she finds an add for a roommate and finds herself her dream job but she must remain diligent and not let anyone get to close. Savannah's past is looking for her and as she feels the walls of her past closing in on her she makes a run for it again. Cooper is a MMA fighter decided early on in life that pain and betrayal were not worth it making him definitely not a one woman man. But when a beautiful woman comes into his life he feels like he needs to protect her but before he can she disappears. Yeah there are similar stories out there but I enjoyed this book and Ava weaves a good story.

He exubes 100% Sexy Alpha male qualities.Savannah's is a guarded confidence, she is not like most mafia princesses. She surprized me more than once in here. She shows such inner strength it's fascinating! The charisma, intensity, and power of the story is Great.Mature readers, strong language an sexual content.I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog

This book is a mixed bag of emotions for me. On one hand I liked the idea behind it. The story was interesting and a good take on the MMA romance genre. However, on the other hand it was let down by the writing.Alpha Fighter had a good concept and that's what kept me reading. I wanted to see how Savannah's story would play out and whether her family would catch up with her. The strong female lead who runs away to live her own life isn't a new concept, yet it's still a good one. Savannah did come off as a feisty character that you didn't want to say no to and I liked that about her. However, to get all of these things you have to use your imagination a lot. For me this book had a lot more telling than showing in it. Things moved on too quickly and there was little time for believable development, not only in the plot but in the romance too. Cooper and Savannah fell into things too easily and too quickly. I didn't engage with them or believe in their emotions because there was a lack of them. Things just happened in this book and it left me disconnected. As well as this, sections were really repetitive. I found myself rolling myself eyes at Cooper's constant references to his SEAL training. I mean I get it, the book is short and my memory's not that bad. I can remember he was a SEAL with out needing to state it 3 times on a page. It just felt like it was padding at times where there could have been more story to help with development.Saying that though, I will read the next book. The story has me intrigued enough to bare with the writing, and even if I don't think it's reached its potential, I'm curious.

This book was just okay for me. After reading Real and Remy and having the ultimate fighter in Remington Tate, Cooper Quin was just average. Cooper's ring name was even cheesy. I did enjoy Savannah Santos' character a lot. She ran away from her life as a motorcycle princess to get away from her father and the boy she was promised to at the age of 8. Which is more than sick. She finds an apartment and meets Cooper. As with all of these types of stories there is an instant attraction. Cooper is a ladies man but decides to make Savannah "his girl". It was kind of sweet and he wore her down. It happened when he scheduled and appointment at Savannah's tattoo parlor and only wants her to ink his new tattoo. They never share any of their personal stories. Cooper questioned himself about why she was so mysterious but never pressed her and in turn Savannah never asked about his past either. She did figure out that he did have a past love who hurt him but again we didn't get any insight. When the two finally give in to their attraction and sleep together Savannah tells Cooper she is a virgin. I don't think there was enough time if any spent on how monumental this decision was for Savannah. They try to have a relationship but Savannah is too worried about her past and unwilling to share her fears with Cooper. Which I feel is naive on her part but I still like her even after she ran. For a girl who grew up privileged she is resourceful.I will read book two because I want to know how it ends. Hopefully the story will be more fully flushed out.

Title: Alpha FighterSeries: Alpha Fighter #1Author: Ava AshleyGenre: Contemporary RomancePages: 238Heat Level: 2 out of 4 flamesOverall Star Rating: 2 out of 5 starsReviewed by Naughty Book Snitch KaySavannah is an MC princess who's on the run after finding the man she is supposed to marry having sex with someone else. To make matters worse, her intended was forced upon her by a marriage alliance between two former feuding MCs. Their marriage has to take place or there will be a blood war of epic proportions. She runs to a neighboring town where either of the MCs have no ties. She answers an ad for a roommate and meets Cooper. Cooper is a man whoring fighter and is immediately taken with Savannah when she answers his ad. He becomes sort of obsessed with her. He at first keeps his distance but soon decides he wants to see where they could go romantically. This leaves him out of sorts because he's never really cared about the company of a woman longer than it takes to sleep with her. There were so many problems with this story for me. An arranged marriage by warring MCs? An alpha male becoming a beta male? Savannah running away but not very far? And she kind of seemed that she always planned to go back home to me. The sex when it happened was not noteworthy at all. The heroine seemed immature and annoying, always faltering back and forth. And the running from Cooper at the end? Nut up bitch, you knew what was coming.

This is book one of the series. I don't normally read biker/gang books, with that being said, I kind of liked this book. This is Savannah and Coopers love story. Savannah came from money, lots of money. Her father was the leader of a biker gang. Years ago her mother and sister were killed in a war between two very powerful biker gangs. To make peace with each other they arranged a marriage between one leaders daughter and the other leaders son. The only problem with that is ....they hated each other. Days before the set marriage date, Savannah walks in on her finance' having sex with someone else, so she decides right then and there to leave her life and never look back. This is where she meets Cooper. Hes a messed up Navy Seal/MMA fighter that lost his wife and his will to love again. This book is kind of cute actually as hard as Cooper works to get in Savannah's pants. She keeps resisting knowing that if she gives Cooper her virginity she will forever be shamed in the eyes of her father, a war will break out and innocent people will die, and Cooper will likely end up dead. This book made me want to read the next book in the series, so with that being said, here I go!! Happy reading!

Ugh...what can I say about this book without completely insulting the author who put her all into writing this? I just really thought this story was missing the depth of characters and the story line was too rushed and completely unbelievable. The story just jumps into Savannah on the run. The reasons why is briefly covered and the reasons why she is basically betrothed to another is also briefly addressed. Just very rushed. The story goes back and forth between POV which is totally fine, but it switches back and forth so quickly there's no chance for the author to really develop these characters. For example, these two fall for each other and have sex when I think they literally had 5 words of dialogue between each other. There's no way you can make me believe that these two were falling for each other if we never see any interactions. And the fact that she doesn't even give him her last name? Come on! This just seemed so unrealistic and sometimes fluffy that I caught myself skimming through. And her age...she just turned 18 and he's an ex navy seal. Don't you think he'd make sure she was legal before doing the deed? I took a chance on this book and I really wish I had read this book first before purchasing the second one. 2 stars. :(
