March 2017 - 2nd read of My One and Only and I may or may not have devoured it in one afternoon... ;) Hehe. Rereading these books is seriously making me so happy! January 2015 - Oh my goodness gracious great balls of fire Batman!! So many feelings!! I just don't know where to start!! My One and Only was absolutely AMAZING!! I LOVED it!!Meredith and Asher are no strangers to our town of Fircrest. I'm sure along the way you have loved them and also may have wanted to shake them a bit and say "What in the world is wrong with you?!" At least I did! ;) Meredith is pretty much broke. Her wedding planning business just is not taking off like she had hoped it would. She knew she needed to come up with something and fast before she either ended up on the streets or moving back home with her mom and dad. While talking with Asher she comes up with the brilliant idea of starting a dating service. And Asher, being the business savvy kind of guy that he is, takes the idea and runs with it. Enter in Brogan Moore and you now have True Love, L.L.C.Things are going great! And then all of the sudden Asher and Pule Matafeo decide that they BOTH have feelings for Meredith! But what does Meredith do?! Well... she decides that she has been hurt by love one too many times and she would rather concentrate on getting her business up and running. She thinks she can be happy with lots of friends around her and that she doesn't need love in her life. What?! I know!! Crazy, right?! *sigh* This girl I tell ya! After hurting Asher she enlists Pule's help to make things right between the two of them. What starts out as Pule helping Meredith get Asher back as a friend turns into the whole Fircrest crew trying to get Meredith to open her eyes and see how much Asher really does love her, how much she really does love him and just how perfectly perfect they are for each other!! One of the things I love most about Asher and Meredith is that they are just so passionate! When they love... they love hard... they will do anything and everything to hold on to what they've got... and as we saw in the other books... that isn't always a good thing. However, in My One and Only, you can see just how much those choices have affected them and see how much they want to change for the better. They really have grown up a lot! Pule has also grown up quite a bit. Having to experience what happened to Cleo has really opened his eyes and mellowed him out. Once he realizes just how much Asher loves Meredith he does the only thing he can and that is to help his best friend get the girl he loves. I think one of my favorite parts is the moment that Pule and Asher share at The Iron Skillet. I'm not going to say anymore.. you'll just have to read the book to find out what I am talking about. :) This journey for Meredith and Asher was more than just finding true love. It was a journey of self discovery.. of healing past hurts.. of hope that there is more to life then what they had been through.. of growing.. of learning.. of gaining new friendships and strengthening old ones.. finding peace with the past.. knowing that what they had been through had made them who they are.. and just knowing that no matter what has happened in the past they most definitely deserve their own HEA. And I. Loved. Every. Single. Minute! Another amazing book by Shannon!! I seriously love everything that she creates!! She just has a way of sucking you in and not letting you go until the very end!! I am definitely looking forward to the other books in this series!! I can't wait to see Pule and Tristan get their own HEA!! So Shannon... when does the next book come out?! ;) Hehe. And no... I have not forgotten your... I mean MY favorite part... ;) Hehe. My casting choice for Meredith and Asher...

Fun, sweet romanceMeredith is a new wedding planner and having a hard time finding clients. That’s when she gets the idea to start her own dating website that will hopefully lead to love-matches and potential clients. She goes into business with her close friend Asher and their friend Brogan. The problem is, now that they are in business together she realizes her feelings for Asher run much deeper than friendship. She has been burned pretty badly before and does not want to risk their friendship. It was really fun seeing these two finally get their own love story. Meredith has appeared a few time throughout the series, my first impression was that I really liked her, but she does make some mistakes along the way and so for her to finally get her HEA was really a pleasure to see. I wasn’t sure about Asher, but he was great in this book. They really seem to balance each other out and are a good fit. They both have quite a few issues to work through and I liked that the story wasn’t just about them finding love, but also about finding self-acceptance and being able to forgive themselves and see that they are worth love.As always, I love the setting of Fircrest and all the fun characters we have come to love that live there. This is book one in the Love & Weddings trilogy, but book ten in the overall Fircrest series. While it can stand on its own, I’d recommend reading the others as well. Not only are they also fun reads, but it will give you good background stories on the main characters in this one. And since book casting is so fun, I swiped this from KJ's Book Nook...Overall, another great read from Ms. Guymon! Content: CleanSource: Gift, thank you!!!!This has been nominated for a 2015 Swoony Award, you can vote for it here.

Clean, light, fun readMerediths StoryAnother clean, light, sweet romance from Shannon Guymon. My One and Only is book one in the Love and Weddings trilogy and takes you back to the town and people of Fir Crest, Washington. Do you know what I love about these books? Everything. :) I love that Shannon draws you into her stories so much that you come to adore her characters...or hate..if the case may be....You come to care about them and so it's like having the ultimate Epilogue, as you read all of the trilogys. You continually get updated on how they are, what they are doing, and that, YES, they are still "Happily Ever After". You literally come to feel as though they become long lost friends or part of the family. :) Therefore I highly recommend starting from the very beginning...and savoring every story. This was Merediths story. I was curious of whether or not I could enjoy almost an entire story in Merediths head. She. Drove. Me. Crazy. in the other books she was in. She is so abrasive, bossy, conniving, just not likeable, or so I thought. I was shocked by how much I did end up liking her! I absolutely adored watching her grow and develop into the person she truly wanted to be, and yet staying feisty all the way. I wasn't entirely sure I could ever love our Hero either. Ash was a royal pain himself in the last trilogy. So fun to see them both mature and become people I would love to have as friends. This story was light and full of humor. The only villains were the Hero and Heroin themselves...which was much more humorous than scary....and I found it a refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable read!

Shannon Guymon has done it again!I down loaded Shannon newest book My One and Only the day it was released. I had been waiting what seemed like forever!!! It was well worth the wait. I have been trying to read it for three days. I finally finished it in the wee hours this morning. Whew!!!! What a ride. I have said before that Shannon is the queen of the love triangle, and it is still true!!!! She has woven friendship, relationships, and love into her stories that constantly pull at your heart strings.I don't do spoiler reviews so here goes.I have been routing for Meredith since I first met her, I don't how many books ago. She has been a troubled and broken soul and has needed to find a soft place to land for a very long time. I love her feisty, tough outside. It keeps her strong, but she has a soft and squishy inside the makes her vulnerable. What a lethal combination. This book for me was all about the choices we make in love. Sometimes it feels like love doesn't give us a choice. But Meredith learns the hard way that even though you feel like your in charge of whom you love, it isn't always that simple. I found myself laughing and crying all along the way. I'm happy to report that Meredith finally gets her Happily Ever After. But I am not saying with whom!!!!This like all of Shannon's books will be one I laugh with and cry with as I re-read it more than once. Like the dishes Tai serves at his diner, Shannon's books are comfort food for the soul. Keep it up girl. Looking forward to your next work of art!!!!!

This is the fourth trilogy that takes place in Fircrest, WA and by now, I really feel that these characters are my friends. The characters come and go throughout each of the books and I love seeing them beyond their stories.I have to admit, I didn't like Meredith or Asher much in previous books, but getting to know them better and watching their transformations changed my mind about their characters.Meredith is a very strong willed woman and she throws everything she has into relationships, whether it be friendships or romances. It's all or nothing with her and because of that, she leaves herself wide open to being hurt and finds herself being very cautious. Asher is similar in many ways, but he's not one to hold back. When he sees something he wants, he goes for it. He puts on such a bad boy front, but I love how the Matafeo men can make him cower.Meredith and Asher team up with a friend to form an online dating site and I loved learning more about it. The ideas are so creative and the new characters introduced are intriguing. I really enjoyed that aspect of the story, along with the humor. There were some misunderstandings that had me feeling terrible for a character, yet they were pretty funny. As usual, the clean romance is always my favorite part! I loved the references to music and the ending was absolutely perfect for the story.Content: no language; no religious elements; no violence; mild romance (kissing). Clean!

Missed the mark...BIG TIME! First off, readers should have been told up front that this is like book 10 in a series of books about a group of characters in fictional Fir Crest, Washington. By calling it Book 1, it seems like it should be a stand alone, or the first of a series, but it's really not. There are so many references to past relationships and previous books that It doesn't truly stand alone. It may be Meredith and Asher's story, but it's also about a busload of other background characters too numerous (and too unexplained) to care about. I just couldn't care anymore. It's also made clear that Asher and Meredith are the cast offs of previous stories, not just losers in love, but the ones you rooted against or "total brats" (author's words). Who wants a story about the rejected bad guys/outcasts from two previous series? Not me. I tried to read it multiple times but just couldn't get into it. I did not read the whole book. P.S. I have been a Shannon Guymon fan but I now I'm rooting for Fir Crest to be consumed in a forest fire so we can all move on!

Great as usual with author and series! I love this growing family of characters and how old friends from previous books never go away. It was nice to see Ash finally find his love. Clean romance. I can't wait for the next book!

I haven't read the others in the series, so it felt like the first bit was catching up on characters I didn't care about. Add that in with the unrealistic nature of the beginning and I can't really get into it to see if it improves. Maybe I'll give it another try after I've read the other books.

I do enjoy Ms. Guymon's books. Can't remember which of her others I've read but I'm a fan when I do!I like Meredith, no lie. She is stubborn and in her own way of love. She has a good reason. She's protecting her heart. I get this heroine.Asher is easy to like and so is Pule, though for me the triangle didn't last long. I was team Asher from the beginning. I would like Pule to get his own HEA (happily ever after.) As its a series, I bet he will, and she'll be awesome. All the wonderful emotional roller coaster ride elements are here, along with wit, and description that gives the message without being lengthy. Well-written, unexpected plot twists, and hard to put down are part of Ms. Guymon's hallmark. Clean and wholesome through and through.Grab a copy, and the rest of the series.

One of my favorite kinds of books is one that you get transported in as soon as you start reading; this is definitely one of those. From the minute I started reading until the very last page I was hooked. I couldn't nor did I want to put it down. The sweet romance developed right before my eyes, and left me grinning ear to ear. I mean what more do you want a swoon worthy guy and a sassy woman, and when they are together lots of fireworks are created!!I love this story and the plot. It is seriously such a sweet romance with a lot of moments that make you go ahhhh. It makes me really hungry as well. I wish there was a bakery like the one in this book and the Iron skillet where I lived. This is just a fun clean romance that will have you swooning for love!I love these characters in all of these series. When you read the books they become so familiar to you, they are like family! I like how each book just brings more and more depth to them. Meredith is a fun, sassy, hopeless romantic and scared of love. Asher is a confident, flirty, tall, dark and handsome type, which has also been burned a time or two. When together these two have an undeniable flirty chemistry that is off the charts, and sparks seem to fly. I love the friendship these two have and how through it all these two are always there for each other no matter what. They make each other better, and bring out the best in each other. They have the sweetest romance blooming that had me once again falling in love with love! It's also nice to get a sneak peak of what has been going on with the other characters. I have really grown to love them all. At times I find myself laughing, crying, wanting to punch them, smiling, and screaming at them. That to me makes a great book, when you can picture yourself in it!I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see how this dating business does! I just love these characters and books! I would recommend reading this book and all of her other series if you haven't yet. They are fun great reads, which will leave you wanting more!

My One and Only is the first book in Shannon Guymon's newest Fircrest trilogy. I haven't read all of the previous trilogies so I was more familiar with Asher than Meredith. After reading "Dreaming of Ivy" I was hoping the author would do a book about Asher. He seemed spoiled, and I wanted the right woman to come along and unspoil him.By the time this book starts Asher and Meredith have both grown up a lot. They've been through a lot (some of it caused by their own actions), and they are ready to prove to themselves - and others - that they can be taken seriously. They become business partners and work hard to create a successful business, but along the way they discover they have deeper feelings for each other. But Meredith has been burned a few times before and isn't willing to trust her heart again, unless Asher can convince her it's worth the risk. There were a lot of Fircrest characters in this story. Like I said, I haven't read all the previous trilogies, but I thought the author did a great job giving enough back story for each person so you would know who they were.Content: CleanSource:

I think I'm done with this author. She has fun characters, but they are all flat. This book was especially amateur. Amateur writing and storyline. About half way through the book I thought it should have been over. I had a hard time picturing these people as adults. The way they acted and talked was more like teenagers. And this line:Asher grinned and leaned over to kiss her softly. “You’re my one and only, Meredith.” Meredith nodded. “Well, let’s see how it goes.Horrible. I did finish it though, and did enjoy seeing past characters.

I had to catch up to who the people were in the book. I personally could not stand Meridith. I can understand that she is a passionate person, but I really did not like her. I liked the end, though, finally.

This was my first book by Shannon Guymon and I wouldn't suggest it. Even though it is the first book in the love and weddings series, it is not the first book in Fircrest Washington. I don't know which series starts this town, but I suggest finding it and starting there because there was way too much going on and too many back stories that were only alluded to that I spent more time trying to keep everyone straight instead of enjoying Meredith and Asher's story. I did like their story, but really wish there's been a note in the description about reading the other books first.

Throughout the book I kept wondering if I had jumped into the middle of a series, but after checking and double checking, it clearly says it's book #1 . Events kept getting referenced to, even the relationship between the two MCs was referenced (kissing and dating and what??? when did all that happen? how did they go from that to not really knowing?), that left me as a reader like I completely missed something.

My One and OnlySweet romance. Enjoyed Meredith and Asher. The only problem I had was the referring to things in the past that I guess if you had read books in the previous series you would know about.

These Fircrest books keep getting better and better! I had a binge reading weekend and read 3 of them! Meredith needed her own story..... After all she put herself through for Kam it was only fair that she have her own story. She is so hard headed though I wasn't sure if she was going to get her happy ending. It takes a lot of effort to learn to open ones heart to other people after being hurt and that is just what she has to learn to do. After Ivy and Cleo Asher was due for a happy ending as well. He seems like such a great guy in the other books even though he is kind of spoiled that I wanted to see them together. They end up going into business together and open an online dating service. How can you expect other people to fall in love around you when you are still figuring it out yourself. They definitely had their work cut out for them. I love that it ends on Valentine’s day because that is my wedding anniversary so that day is extra special to me!! I love how these stories come together and the more you read the more you fall in love with the town of Fircrest! Shannon Guymon is awesome! Read all her books, I am slowly working towards that myself!

Another good quick romance to read when you’re feeling down. This story is set in Fircrest, Washington (like many other stories by this author). There are many side characters in this that have their own books I’ve read earlier. Meredith, Asher and Pule are the three characters in this romance. Meredith isn’t looking for love. She’s loved twice and crashed and burned both times. But she’s struggling to make ends meet and when she runs an idea by her friend, Asher, about an online dating site, he’s all into it and determined to become partners with her. This has fun characters, lots of good romantic tension as insecurities and fears comes into play and hope and faith have to be utilized to build a happy future.

This is Meredith's book, she was in other stories but she finally gets her happily ever after. But she is Meredith so not without a bit of drama. I love that Asher, Brogan and Meredith come up with such a cute name! As it always seems to go how can Meredith fall for Asher if she is working with him. Asher really mellows out in this book doesn't have as many moments where you are smacking your forehead thinking "Asher? really?"What I love about this book most of all is that everyone of their friends is helping them to find each other. They both need all the help they can get. Could clean romance with a bit of drama mixed.

As I read this book, it felt like many of the characters were presented as if I should already know them. This confused me some since it was the first book in the series. Afterwards, I looked it up and there are other series that precede this book. I would suggest reading those first. I think I would have enjoyed the book more if I had done so. I liked the overall story and the characters did grab my interest. I will probably read other book in this series and the series that precede it. The writing wasn't superb, but it wasn't necessarily bad either.Content: Clean

A sweet story bursting with characters I enjoyed this book, although I think I would have loved it more had there not been so much focus on so many characters. I have read other books from this author that have the same characters, and while it's nice to hear about then, I wish the author had spent more time with the main characters in this book, rather than having so many other characters talk about them.

Had a hard time getting into this one. I had a hard time buying Asher as the hero because I still saw him as the bratty immature guy from previous books, but by the end he won me over and I'm glad he and Meredith both finally get a happily ever after :)

I've enjoyed all the books set in the little town of Fircrest. It's fun to see the characters from earlier books play a part in the story. I found Meredith to be frustrating through much of this story, but I was glad she got her happy ending.
