The Queen Underneath Reviews
Wow, the synopsis is quite promising. No love story between the main leads? BL between the hero and heroine's best friend? Sounds quite unique. I hope the heroine gets a love interest as well, and I hope it is the assassin lol. ---MAGE WAR!!!
listen I know y'all are tired of retellings but I LOVE retellings
* This review is for an advance readers copy* This book was actually amazing. It was a fresh and new twist on one of my FAVORITE classics. My only issue is this book is being marketed as Young Adult, when it’s well into the New Adult category. There are many sensitive situations and conversations/topics that take place ranging from sexual to rape glimpses and torture. They were very tastefully written but they are VERY blatant in content. This does not take away from this book at all, however being put on the young adult genre may not allow this book to flourish as it should and could turn quite a few people off after the first twenty pages. Yes it jumps right into everything around twenty pages. However if your within age range for this sort of content I urge you to pick up this authors debut retelling. It’s rather enchanting if I do say so myself.
Wow!!! I loved so much about this fantasy. With fabulous characters (I adored feisty thief turned Queen Gemma!!!), plenty of twists and turns, heart-pounding action, political intrigue, betrayal, and romance, what more could you want? I highly recommend it!
