But when her former fiancé Lucas Rain shows up asking for her help, she knows there’s no easy way out. After making it known she wants nothing to do with him, Secret agrees to help find Lucas’s wayward sister Kellen. After all, how much trouble could one socialite get into in the city that never sleeps?Unless that socialite has been spirited away by fairies.Trying to track down a missing girl in an alternate reality is just the start of Secret’s problems, though. Someone appears to be killing teenagers, and the MO looks eerily similar to something for which the half-fairy oracle, Calliope, might be responsible. Throw in a rogue wolf pack claiming allegiance to Secret’s mother, Mercy, and she’ll have miles to go before she rests.Warning: This book contains a promise fulfilled, sex that’s out of this world, and more heartache than one hybrid assassin can handle. This book was previously released by Samhain Publishing. The new edition contains minor word changes but no story changes....

Posted at Yummy Men & Kick Ass ChicksIf I remember correctly, the first words out of my mouth after finishing this book was “Wow. Wow Wow Wow. Wowwowowwowwow. Wow”. And yes, it deserves every last of those ‘wows’.Grave Secret is the fifth book in Sierra Dean’s Secret McQueen series. It starts off exactly where book four ended and for those who have read that last book, there will be joy over that because where Sierra leaves us…well let’s just say that there would be hell to pay if she did not continue from that very scene. All I will say about it is that it’s a scene between Secret and Holden and this is the scene that made me move a bit more onto Team Holden. I have been firmly planted in Team Desmond since the beginning but damn it all, Sierra is slowly shifting me and now I have no idea where I stand. I’m stuck in the middle of two!Let’s chat Teams for a little second before I continue. There are three possible Teams in this series. (Don’t let that turn you off – Sierra does an absolutely fabulous job writing this love-square. Really, she does. I can’t usually stand more-than-one-love anything but Sierra sucked me right in.) You can either be on Team Holden, Team Desmond or Team Lucas. I like the direction the relationships are taking in this book. It all seems to be realistic even though there are multiple men. I don’t know of many authors who could pull of the many-men-relationship like Sierra does.Back to the story now. After that fantastic opening scene, the action starts and, true to Sierra Dean form, doesn’t let up. In each book we focus on either the werewolves or the vampires in Secret’s world (which is nice because Sierra is half-werewolf and half-vampire – the only one in existence). But this time around Sierra switches it up a bit and we follow Secret as she travels to the world of the fae.Sierra writes neat fae. I would not want to cross them ever but neither are they nasty gross. They are just very cunning and boy oh boy do you have to be careful around them. Smart little buggars, they can easily mess with you. And do they ever mess with Secret! But I’ll get back to that in a minute.Lucas, being the ever charming and democratic man that he always is (not!), tells Secret that she is to find his missing sister and that she has to do it now. Yeah…just when you think Lucas can’t be more of an asshat than he already is, he surprises us and yes, you guessed it, becomes even more of an asshat! Apparently, that is possible!Another quick note about the men. Holden fans will be very happy because there is tons of Holden in this one.Desmond fans will be very happy because there is tons of Desmond in this one.Lucas fans…well I really don’t know why anyone would be a Lucas fan at this stage of the series because really, asshat.Brigit. I had forgotten how much I like her character. She is so freaking cute! And I know she is not a man but I feel I must throw that in.And Sig… I hear there isn’t much longer before we get a book in the series that explains him and I can’t wait. He is just amazing! His strength and power can be overwhelming for Secret but there is something almost fatherly about him at the same time. The way he is with her is lovely. I can’t freaking wait to know what his deal is!Secret. We need to talk about Secret. She is beginning to know her inner wolf and I thought it was neat how the wolf was present this time around. It just added a new dynamic to Secret. I am really happy with how Secret grows in each book. This time around there is a lot of change – mostly because of all the crap she has to face which includes a huge freaking twist (that I will get to in one moment). She is more grounded in this book. She is also starting to think a bit more before acting and considering other people a bit more. She is also starting to realize that she is not alone in all this and that she can, in fact, ask for help and not appear weak. I just love her growth and where she is going. Sierra truly does an amazing job with her. There is a reason she is on my favorite characters list. She is just that awesome.I think it’s time to finally talk about that twist. The one that I NEVER SAW COMING! Now these books are always filled with twists that make your jaw drop but I’m telling you people, the one found in Grave Secret takes the cake. I mean OH. MY. GOD! I never thought Sierra would go there. I mean he said…then she said…then he…then she… OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!! Once you read it, you will be cursing out loud, I guarantee it. And to avoid spilling too much, that is all I am going to say about that. What is it about these books that make me want to abandon my life so I can read them uninterrupted? Each and every book in this series brings out such a passionate response from me. Mostly, they make me curse and make me want to tweet Sierra incessantly asking her question after question that usually starts with ‘why why why?’ But they also make me marvel and the talent of this author. Sierra is brilliant in her storylines, her action scenes and her characters. This is a series that grips me completely and Grave Secret is no exception. It’s a marvelous installment that not only left me with my jaw on the floor but also left me wanting more. I am already counting down the days until Secret Unleashed comes out in October. And I know once you finish Grave Secret, you will be counting down too.

this is the 5th in the "Secret McQueen" series and Secret is again thrust in the middle of a supernatural adventure after Lucas, the werewolf king, left her standing at the alter. Their futures are still bound as she technically bonded to him in a werewolf claiming. Things are picking up for her with Holden, her vampire wet dream fantasy friend, wanting to collect on spending one night with him. And poor Desmond, her werewolf mate, has left her as she has agreed to Lucas's claim. With so much supernatural mojo in flux it's a wonder why Secret sometimes wishes she could just be a normal human girl and not have to deal with it all.Enter the fae world to the mix of problems and Secret just may run off to a deserted island where she can live alone and problem free. This is one of my all time favorite series with the strong female lead character Secret, a hybrid vampire/werewolf, being unable to stay out of trouble through no fault of her own. Her love triangle of Lucas, Desmond, and Holden continue to keep me in suspense as to which of them is to be THE guy. Arrggg. I THINK I know which of the three it will be but the author continues to dangle the possibility of either of the other two. The adult content scenes in the book sure back this us as Secret gets it on with two of the three candidates. You go girl.As to the secondary characters. Sig continues to be the mystery. It's very apparent that he will play an important role in Secret's life but don't expect to get any hints of that in this book. Carlos continues to be himself but is starting to show his real colors. The Oracle is starting to give me a headache. The all knowing isn't looking too good in this book, which is why the suspicion of her being a bad guy element works. Keally is back and as sociable as always. I did miss him. :D. You would think that with all that positive elements in my review that my actual rating would be a mistake? Sorry. As much as I enjoyed the actual story in pieces the entire flow and series of events not only disappointed me but deflated the bubbl of happiness I've had with this series. There was one scene in the book that I actually thought was going to be the equivalent of 'the shower scene' from Dallas. The overall series plot is getting blurred and I'm not a fan of it. Sure I KNEW the pivotal tear jerker scene was going to happen but not like it did. That character deserved a better reveal than what was written for her. And Desmond. I've been a Desmond fan from day one. Right now I think a similar tear jerker scene as happened to another character would be in his best interests. I say the following with the utmost respect for anyone's opinion to disagree but can't come up with a better way of my personal opinion for this guy. He's just TSTL. I am a BIG fan of this author/series but that doesn't mean that if I disagree with the story I won't say something so while I will continue to read this series I can't say that I'm a fan of this book IN the series. I read one sentence in this book that I think sums up my general opinion of this book. "You've done such damage to the course of your future I don't know if I can see your way out of it anymore."

I did not read this series, I've inhaled the fucker!!!!And right now i would agree to do some right dodgy stuff to get my hands on this book.....Can't wait is an understatement!!!PS: Lucas is a right manipulative shit and i hope he gets his nutsack trapped in an elevator door!!!!This book delivered everything the series promised. I am glad that Secret finally stood up against Lucas and am happy to see him getting what he deserves. The ending was very good. It leaves so many open possibilities for the next one. And now again....we wait....

Oh boy did this book trouble me! Few things changed though, I still dislike Lucas, now to the point of wanting to punch him personally (although this would probably hurt me more than him)! I can't stand his hard headed obnoxious royal ass!!!Another thing that hasn't changed, I love Desmond, I love that wolf with every breath, he is just gorgeous - and sometimes I want to smack Secret in the head - I mean I like Holden but WTF!!!!OK, so maybe not everything that happens in Secret's life is the norm, lets face it, she has trouble following her all over the place, from Wolves in other packs, to a mad parent to a deranged vampire and lets not forget the prisoner!!!Things that did change for me, my heart broke, I can't believe what happened in this book, it broke my heart and brought us to the ultimate cliff hanger, something I thought of almost immediately but it still creeped me out when I read those God Awful Words!!!I'm troubled, I love Secret, I love Desmond, I love that Secret hates Lucas now but I'm troubled with the line crossed between Secret and Holden... I'm finding it hard (pardon the pun) to get to grips with this element!!! Another fabulous read!!

Spoilers ahead.Karma’s a bitch. At the end of Keeping Secret, we learned that Lucas Raintree is the arse we have always thought he was when he leaves Secret standing at the altar while he handles a small problem for her uncle. He sends Desmond to inform Secret of his defection. *gasp* Though, I have to admit, a small part of me smirked and thought, “You totally deserved this, Secret.”In Grave Secret, Secret is dealing with her anger towards Lucas by really not dealing with it. She ignores his calls, refuses to accept his apologies, and has essentially declared him persona non grata in her life. She is working to get Desmond back in her life and bed again when Lucas, like the bad penny he is, shows up and informs her that his sister, Kellon, is missing and as pack enforcer and his were queen, (they are bound together regardless of the actually wedding), she needs to find her. Secret is also investigating a rash of murders involving teenagers where her bff Callippe looks to be prime suspect number one, and Secret’s mother is back and wants Secret’s crown…preferably with her head attached to it.Grave Secret takes us on a wild emotionally telling ride that will leave some cheering, some jeering, but almost everyone wanting book six. Consequences are the base that this story is built upon. After the events in book four, Secret has a lot to answer for. Her continuing efforts to have her cake and eat it too has come back to spank her… hard. She is now having to face the fallout for poor decisions and hasty actions of the past. And they are harsh consequences. She has lost Desmond, she owes Holden, and she must deal with her non breakable bond with Lucas regardless of his humiliation of her. Secret also has to deal with the tribunal and her continuing unpopularity there. And even though she see’s the results of these poor decisions, she still continues to think and react with her emotions rather than her head, putting herself and others in more danger than before.Sierra Dean’s continuing world expansion and character development of this wickedly noir urban fantasy keeps it fresh and engaging. Non stop action and engaging plot lines will leave you longing for more long after you reach the end. Each installment continues to mature, further revealing insight into Secret’s life and the lives of those around her. Tension builds as Secret is once again making decisions that are emotionally based. They aren’t always the best decisions but they are often the lesser of the two evils. Unfortunately, those decisions have devastating consequences, as Secret is beginning to find out. I wouldn’t recommend starting here if you haven’t read the previous books. This arc is long reaching and each book picks up where the last one leaves off with almost no recap.Secret McQueen is wore out. Dealing with Lucas and the Eastern Wolf pack, the Vampire Tribunal, and the mess she has made of her love life has left her in need of some serious downtime. But life stops for no one as Secret soon learns. Her love life continues to be one hot mess that reached a pinnacle in book four and now seems to be struggling to regroup. Desmond is back though Holden still features heavily in the mix. While I love this series, this wasn’t my favorite installment. I really felt this book was more of a bridge between books four and six. The romance, which has begun to overpower the arc and edge this series out of UF territory and into PNR, has become redundant and I’m ready for a decision to be made. I’m not a love triangle fan to begin with and when Secret does something in here that made me question her true feelings and the motivations behind them, I’m almost at my wits end. Let’s just say, when other characters call her to task on it, you know something isn’t right. I won’t spoil but I really hope she starts thinking more with her head and less with her crotch. I do however give kudos to Dean for allowing Secret to make her mistakes and suffer the fallout while continuing to love all the men in her life. Regardless of what the readers want or feel comfortable with, Dean continues to evolve Secret’s love life in a way that stays true to her character. It’s rare to see this sort of romantic quad-angle (?) outside of erotica. The main storyline is chocked full of action and suspense as Secret is once again forced to step up to an already full plate and deal with multiple issues simultaneously. The subplots begin to intertwine with the main storyline and feed off one another and when a tragic event occurs, we see again the effects of consequences. Only this time, Lucas is at fault and the results don’t bode well for Secret’s future. I sense some shift in their balance of power and I can’t wait to see if this is true in book 6. We are introduced to new enemies who promise us some interesting times in the future. The ending is a dramatic enlightening affair. Taunt action and suspense twists will leave you shocked by the outcome.Once again, Sierra Dean has brought us screaming through the catastrophe that is Secret McQueen’s life and left us ready for round 6-Secret Unleashed-release date to be revealed.

    Final Edit-10/29/133.5-4.0 starsFinally! I have read this book and I'm very glad I waited until the next book was out before starting this one. No, it isn't because of some major cliffy, life in the balance, assumed dead kind of ending. It was because this one was just okay. Secret really disappointed me in this one. A few times. Her choices, her thought process, her actions... her excuses! I'm almost fed up with it all. Almost.The only good things that happened were that Secret (view spoiler)[appears to be done with Lucas, though I'll believe it when he's a throw rug on her & Desmond's living room floor. Also, Desmond seems to be back with Secret. Even if "being back" means things are more muddled and confusing than ever before. Sigh. *pleasedontturnintoamysticalvagina* (hide spoiler)]No worries, though. Yes, I had a few issues this time around. No, there isn't a force strong enough to knock me from this series. Ever. :)Edit-5/16/13 I cant bring myself to start this yet, I'm too nervous. Maybe closer to Oct??Mar 19th, 2013Preordered!!! I'm am on so many pins & needles waiting for this book! Hopefully, it'll be enough to numb my entire body for the pain and heartbreak I just know I will (willingly) suffer (for my poor Desmond) while reading this book!Team Kill Lucas ftw!! >;-}

This series is one that acts like a punch to the gut more often than not. This time, I had to quietly put my Kindle down and let myself unwind at one point because OMG! ALL THIS STUFF WAS HAPPENING AND IT WAS KILLING ME! *breathes deeply*Here's the thing, I don't always agree with the choices Secret makes but I can appreciate why she makes them. She's a complicated lady with a complicated life. Lucas messed up her relationship with Desmond (who I ADORE) and yet she still has responsibilities to the pack. Desmond was deeply hurt by what Secret did with Lucas and he's had to take some time to regroup. Holden is... well, he's Holden. As much as Secret might wish otherwise, all their lives are tangled up and sometimes there are no easy answers to the way she feels.Seriously, so much stuff happens here. Secret gets a chance to live out her deepest dream but it comes at a wickedly high price. She's being hunted by someone looking to steal her power. She's rebuilding herself while trying to balance the demands of the vampire council, the werewolves, and her business partner. It's fantastic and a little heartbreaking and STUFF HAPPENS.Holy smokes. Book 6 might just kill me.-Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal

WARNING SPOILERS!I just finished this book and my first thought on reaching the end was "oh no not again" and my second was that the book could have quite easily be re-named Much Ado About Nothing.I really like Secret. But this book was a whole lot of nothing that only ended up with Secret in debt to a Fairy King with no limits on the favour and DIDN'T answer the one thing I wanted to know. Did losing / regaining her wolf / vampire mean that she lost her bonds with Lucas??? If I had had that question answered (preferably as a YES) then the run around would have been worthwhile, but it's ignored. We've ditched one guy for another so Secret is still doing the man shuffle. We haven't lost any enemies in fact we end with one on the loose and the number of people who know what Secret is has increased. As I said a whole lot of nothing. Well Secret got to sun bake and enjoy food for a day. I guess that's something. It's not that I need Secret to take on a big bad in every book, but here she literally ran in circles and only got worse off for the effort. There was no payoff to her and I needed one.Yes I will be reading the next book, I just hope Secret gets something out of that one that's good for her.

The last book ended with such a cliffie...of the passionate kind. I could not wait to see where it lead. Not to mention that Sierra was devastated after Lucas being a total ass and not showing up to their wedding. There was drama to be told and I needed to know.Secret was a bit messed up but was doing better. Des was nowhere to be found (still Team Des!) and Holden, well I will not tell you whatever happened in the beginning. Whether I am Team Holden or not, well, no not really. I just do not feel him. Can't be that team then. But trust me, not team Lucas at least, and that leaves Des. He is just such a good beta and I want to hug him.Away from the teams. This book gives us fairies, murder and a twist that kept me reading and reading. Then I cursed our tiny flat as I could not continue to read, but I did wake up earlier the next day so that I could finish this book.

I will give Sierra Dean due credit. She has crafted a world and characters that have completely sucked me in. I can’t stop reading these books. I have feelings –very strong feelings—about these stories that I cannot ignore. This says a lot about Dean’s gift as a writer. Book after book, I am on the edge of my seat, thanks to the great pacing, the plotline, the action and the danger. And book after book, I find myself inordinately pissed off with at least one of the characters and increasingly incensed by Secret’s romantic entanglements. In past book, all my hate went to Lucas. But here… here I think I am starting to hate Secret too.Hate Secret? You gasp. She’s the main character! She is tough and vulnerable. She is funny and sympathetic. All true. But she does something in this book that I just don’t understand. Something that made me call her unflattering names. You see, I can understand the appeal of the different men in her life. I can understand her wanting to explore her feelings for them. But she acts with virtually no regard for the feelings of these men she is supposed to love. And frankly, I am to the point where I feel like she doesn’t deserve any of them. Pick a dude. Have sex with that dude if you want. If you want to be with another dude, STOP BEING WITH THE FIRST DUDE, then get freaky. Secret’s actions showed such blatant disregard for one of her men, even the other characters call her on it.(*sigh*) Moving on. I loved everything else about this book. The basic plot is that Lucas’s sister Kellan has gone missing –and Secret gets tasked to find her. It involves her traveling to another land to seek out her friend. She has to make a major sacrifice to get the job done and it was really intriguing to see how she dealt with the fallout. I loved that Secret finally sees the writing on the wall with Lucas and sticks to her guns. I loved seeing the softer side of Holden. Even though I am all about Desmond, we get to really explore Holden’s feelings for the first time and it made me see why he has a team rooting for him.Plus – there’s a big OMG moment that’s a huge sucker punch. It’s not only a huge emotional blow for Secret, but the catalyst for where the series is headed next. My emotions were all over the place with this one. I was never bored and I couldn’t put it down. But it made me mad a lot.Rating: I can’t commit. It was good, but I am mad.

This book was fantastic! Snarky UF with a PNR twist. Reminds me of Ilona Andrews and Jeaniene Frost books.Favorite quotes:Holden rolled his eyes. “Again, I draw your attention to exhibit A.” He pointed to his face. “Do I look like I need date-rape drugs to get women?” “No, you’re a vampire. The walking date-rape drug.”When I’m unhappy, I don’t like the way anything looks. When I’m depressed, as it turns out, it is an absolute requirement that I try on—and hate—every single item of clothing I own. It’s a fact universally acknowledged, to quote Jane Austen, that he doesn’t give a single flying fuck about me.” “I don’t think Jane Austen ever said flying fuck.” “The point. You’re missing it.”“You still smell like him,” he said. He meant Lucas. The werewolf marriage ceremony left his impression all over me as a giant Fuck off, this is mine signal to any wolf who might think I was fair game. That mark was why Desmond had left. Basically Lucas had taken a big metaphysical whizz all over my aura, staking his claim. There’s no such thing as immortality.” “I—” “No. Everything that lives can die. Even your half-fae friend. Remember, Jesus was the son of God. Look how far it got him.”Applying human logic to the fairy world was like trying to solve a quadratic equation using a Shakespearean soliloquy as your guideline. Iambic pentameter could only take you so far in solving for X.He held me like I was precious and breakable, but he kissed me like I might destroy him.Tight pants were fashion’s way of saying, Look but don’t touch. No, seriously, you can’t touch because I’ll never be able to take these off.“Secret’s fatal flaw is that the only thing keeping her good is her desire to be human.”“Death is sometimes a gift.” “I’m big on re-gifting,” I parried. ““If our lives were only about what we wanted, everyone would have perfect love, millions of dollars and no complaints. You cannot be so foolish to believe you can have things the way you like them all the time. You have responsibilities.” He seemed hurt and a little dizzy from being stopped in the act. I wondered if full-blooded vampires had something like blue balls for their fangs if they didn’t get to feed when they were expecting to. Like some kind of pseudo-sexual gingivitis.

Reviewed by: Rabid ReadsMy favourite heroine is back at it and is once again biting off more than she can chew. To my delight she handles it all in true Secret McQueen fashion; by running her mouth and delivering some of the best one-liners of her Urban Fantasy career. There’s no shortage of action or romance in this book and more wow moments than I care to count.Even after everything the werewolf king has done to her, Secret still has trouble refusing Lucas. What starts out as a simple search for a missing socialite quickly morphs into a fiasco of epic proportions. Secret’s biggest wish has unexpectedly come true but unfortunately for her she can’t even enjoy it thanks to the slew of baddies who are trying to rain on her parade. McQueen finds herself forced to rely on her men-du-jour for protection instead of her sword and needless to say, the role of victim does not suit her.I loved Secret in this installment because for the first time in a long time she’s vulnerable. It was refreshing to see the big bad werewolf queen / vampire council leader / assassin sweat a little. Of course, instead of going into hiding because of her weakened state, McQueen’s backup defense is laying her trademark sarcasm on extra thick. I adore Sierra Dean’s sense of humour and Grave Secret is milk-out-your-nose funny.Move over Lucas Rain and h-e-l-l-o Holden! Just when I thought nothing could sway me from team Desmond, the vampire steps up to the plate and takes a swing. Both men have so many amazing moments in this book that I now find myself loving them equally. I don’t envy the choice that Secret has to make; if it were up to me, I’d keep them both! She is a hybrid after all, so it makes sense that she needs a werewolf AND a vampire lover, right? I’m just saying.Grave Secret will make you swoon, cry, rage, laugh and finally leave you with a big “oh shit” at the end.

This has been my least-favorite of this series so far. None of the characters seemed to be behaving like I've come to expect. (SPOILER ALERT) Lucas has a lame excuse (practically none?) for not showing up at the wedding, so that whole story line felt unfinished. Desmond took Secret back without much of a struggle. Even Secret seemed very disjointed by agreeing to sleep with Holden while wolf-Desmond is there, and in Fairy Land at that. And having her Mother's thugs wander in a couple of times did not feel like a big enough conflict to feel any relief when they were gone. The "human-ness" of Secret was very short-lived so it didn't feel like a big enough deal when that was over. When I got to the end of book, by reaction was "That's it??"

There is some good action in this series which I like ...But there are 2 things I hate in a series.1- recycled villains ..and there are 2 of those here ...and it is tiresome to say the least..2- a heroine who jumps in bed with every good looking man in the book and thinks that lust is equal to love ...and there is a LOT of that going on..there is no denying the obvious truth the heroine is kinda slutty ..and if it were a man in her place we would be outraged by his actions and calling him a few selected " words" ..This series started out good but I do not see how the author could save the heroine from her own stupidity ...!

Too much talking and not enough shooting. Secret let too much happen because she liked the sound of her own voice. There is no way she should have let that alien pack of wolves encroach so far that they were able to hurt her and Desmond. She did the same thing with that Morgan chick in the last book. She let's too much stuff go, and focuses on the stuff that doesn't matter. But it was a good read...I was just frustrated.

I read the final 4 Secret McQueen books back-to-back, so I can't really tell one from another. In two of the books, Secret is getting her ass handed to her in the usual dark urban fantasy ways. There's medical torture, for example. Then she turns it around, disposing of her enemies, and finally fighting zombies. Because EVERY book written at that time has zombies in it. It's apparently a rule - all UF authors must incorporate zombies, even if they don't fit in the book's world. The overall ending is a bitter sweet (some characters do die), but still satisfying.

Mess of a romantic relationship. I'm all for a love triangle but when it just gets messier and messier, where it's too wishywashy, too much going back and forth (then some) and seems to be ruled by lust/attraction and not exactly the heart then that just leaves a bad taste. When you think the other guy has dropped the equation, another adds a complication. So here it goes again. A mess of a romantic relationship. Dropped.

Grave Secret is the fifth book in the Secret McQueen series by Sierra Dean.Grave Secret starts days after the events in Keeping Secret (book 4). After being abandoned at the altar by Lucas Secret is trying to come to terms with her feelings; being publicly humiliated is not easy to digest especially for a girl like Secret; for her, Lucas' decision means their relationship is over, she doesn’t care that they were married by werewolves rites.Secret is trying to avoid Lucas at all cost but thanks to their connection he can locate her wherever she is. After trying to reach her he decides to look for her; his sister Kellen has disappeared and he’s losing his mind with worry. Secret accepts to help him look for Kellen, for Kellen’s sake not his. What Secret wasn’t expecting was to learn that Kellen was in Fairy. To get to Fairy Secret needs Calliope’s help, the only problem is that Calliope is a suspect in a murder Secret is investigating, but without any other option Secret goes to Calliope for help.Things in Fairy are worse than Secret was expecting, the Fairy king, Aubrey, no only likes to play games and push people’s buttons, but is also a master at doing bargains, something Secret learns a bit too late.Secret is back from Fairy and trying to live with the consequences of her actions, her life is upside down to say the least, and to add to her current dilemma her mother is back in the picture, and Secret’s mother is not the nurturing kind but more like I want to make you bleed until you die kind. The only good thing right now in Secret’s life is that Desmond and Holden have her back; the problem is they also want her on her back.I discovered Secret McQueen series over a year ago and it was love at first read. I read (devoured) the two novellas and first and second book in two days; I found them so addictive that it was impossible for me to put them down, since then this series has become one of my top 5 favorite series, one that makes me mark my calendar with the dates of next releases (I don’t do that with many). I have even bullied some friends into reading these books, and now, like me, they also worship every word Mrs. Dean writes. In Grave Secret Secret is the same Secret we love, the caring kick ass heroine that will go the extra mile for those she cares. She knows sometimes the price is too high but she is willing to pay it to keep her love ones safe. In this installment she is also healing her broken heart and trying to cope with her new found feelings towards Holden.Desmond is more in the picture in this book than what he was in Keeping Secret. He continues to love Secret deeply and proves it day after day.Holden, oh! Sweet, delicious, dreamy, Holden. I loved him in previous books and loved him even more after reading this one. He bared his heart to Secret and was so honest about his feelings and his intentions that there was nothing else for me to do but to love him even more. As with Desmond he is there, by Secret side every time she needs him.Secret and Holden’s relationship went a step further in this installment. Mrs. Dean gave us some scenes that were so hot I almost needed a shower afterwards.I used to like Lucas, but lately his actions are making me dislike him so much that I want him out of the picture. His actions are so full of cowardice and stupidity that I don’t know if to pity him or hate him. Only time will tell if he finds his backbone again and becomes the man the wolves need.Grave Secret is action packed and with so many twists and turns that will keep you glued to the pages and on the edge of your seat, Grave Secret won’t let you go until you reach that last word, but the trip to that last word won’t be an easy one, it will be one roller coaster of emotions that will leave you spent and dying for more. Every time I finish a Secret McQueen book I think it’s impossible for Mrs. Dean to write a better book and every new release she makes me eat my thoughts. This was also the case with Grave Secret. After the absolutely amazing book that was Keeping Secret I couldn’t imagine a way for Mrs. Dean to write a book as good or better than that one, but I was wrong, as she has done it before, she did it again with Grave Secret, and I’m sure she will do it again with the next installment, Secret Unleashed (October 2013).

Review On: am ashamed of myself. I said I was going to enjoy the book and read it slowly. Well I am a liar. And now it's over and i want more.I am so addicted to Secret and this love square that's going one. The previous book left us hanging. His she or won't she keep the promise of the one night stand with Holden the sexy vampire she doesn't know she loves? It left us like this. But after loads of crying over Lucas the werewolf that left her at the altar and being gave up by Desmond she wants to forget so she goes to Holden. The thing is Holden does not want her when she thinks of him as the backup, he wants with her full attention and heart on him. And after the big fat NO we have Secret back. And the book Starts....Men screwed everything up. And the more men I added to the equation, the messier things got. When Lucas Rain appears to "ask" for a favor because his sister is AWOL Secret is pissed. And thinking Kellan is just enjoying some beach boys in swim shorts in some Paradise else where she still goes out to find her. I finished this book amazed. How how love this series so bad. It has the love triangle, the kick ass tiny blond girl and some amazing bad guys. It's perfect.Secret is though. She was thought by the best, hangs out with some badass hot guys and knows how to kick ass. She's smart and intuitive but her mouth always puts her in danger. We would think a girl like Secret who has half of the world trying to kill her knew how to shut her mouth trap. Well she doesn't and she's got herself loads of trouble because of it. But this book is freaking hilarious because of it. She's going to get in trouble with the fairy king because of it, with her mother, with the vampire council and with a loner pack that is determined in killing her. How great. “Tough shit for you, then, because I’ve never been a proper lady.” “And yet you are a queen.”The Male Alphas guys and the Hot Centenary Vampire. Lucas, Holden and Desmond. Oh My..... <3 All of them together is something out of a fairy tale, they are all amazing good looking, super smart and in fantastic shape. The this that separates them are their personalities which are the total opposite of each other. Lucas is controlling and demanding. But all I saw was a villain who’d broken my heart and taken away the man I loved.Desmond is attentive and caring.Desmond’s wolf could be kind of a dick. It would get along great with my bitch. This proved we were soul mates after all.And Dear Holden fiery and intense.Holden, not wanting to let the moment go unacknowledged, said, “All hail Secret, Queen of the Bitches.” Which one does she pick? Well Lucas is suddenly out of the picture... Finally. But she will be faced with this question a lot throughout the book and she will be forced to pick. The Secondary character are the thing that is mots mentioned in this book because no one is forgotten. Everyone has an important paper in helping Secret with her life and problems. Keaty is the same old self, maintaining some space between Secret and always calling her back to life with some awesome cases to solve. Kellen is going to be kidnapped. But is it really a kidnapping? Mercedes does not appear as much for my liking but still we will get a glimpse of her. Sig is going to continue threatening her and then cracking jokes at the same time. Juan Carlos is the same idiot. And loads of other surprises...Trouble has a way of finding me no matter where I go.” Understatement-of-the-year award goes to…The scenes and history of Grave Secret is incredible. The action is just in the correct time, there's no rush and everything goes in a way to leave your heart pumping. In grave Secret lots of Secrets are going to be discovered. A killer will be caught and a pack of wolfs will loose their heads..., Which pack??? But this book is spectacular and i definitely recommend for everyone who likes some bad ass story.

Secret is still heartbroken about losing Desmond. She doesn’t care about Lucas anymore, and really hates him now. He stood her up at the altar, humiliated her in front of the world. She knows he doesn’t love her, even though they have a soul bond, she is just a convenience for him. And he clearly hasn’t learned anything yet. So why has he come looking for her, just as she is asleep in Holden’s arms, in Holden’s apartment? He looks like hell. Lucas’s sister is missing, and that is not something new, but Kellen usually does answer her phone when Lucas is the one calling. He wants Secret to find Kellen, and gives her till the end of the week. Or he will have Desmond transferred way out of state…Of course Secret does not react well to threats, and it is also the final thing that makes her seek out Desmond again. She misses him so much. But he just can’t live with her, smelling Lucas on her skin all the time. The solution is simple though: replace Lucas’ scent with his own… He will help Secret find Kellen, and knows just the person to ask. When a close friend tells them, she left Kellen behind in some secret club, they find a Fae club. And when you have a debt to a Fae, you will pay the price, in full. Some Fae took Kellen with him back to Faery, and to rescue her, Holden, Desmond and Secret will have to follow her. The only way to get there, is to ask the Oracle to open the portal for them. Calliope is not happy to do so, she can’t see the outcome of this adventure, only that it is bad for Secret. Also, her realm is forbidden for werewolves, and she is not happy that Secret is bending that rule. It will be close to impossible for Desmond to keep his humanity once he enters Faery. And she warns them of her brother, the King. Stubborn, they still set out to safe Kellen, even though it does not seem like Kellen wants to be saved. She looks happy and in love with her captor. And to fulfill her promise to Lucas, Secret has to give up something very dear to her, and she will come to regret that loss fast. At first, it seems like the solution to all her problems, but then reality intrudes, and her choices are only bad. And with the threat mommy dearest provides, she has to make amends and fast. I really did not want this book to be finished, so I was procrastinating a lot while reading. Going to Twitter, Facebook, playing some games. But at some moment, I did finish the book. And now I am really wondering what horrors Secret will have to go through in the next one. The mayhem in this one sure broke her heart, and mine with it.To find out about her PI partner Keaty, he was so glad about the change, and that hurt a lot. I am happy though that she is together again with Desmond and that Lucas (the werewolf King) seems to have left her life. Still, I was having hopes for her hooking up with the vampires more. But Desmond seems to have found more of a backbone in this story, and I liked him a lot more. Secret had to made some very hard decisions, and I admire her for that, but also cried for her a lot. Sierra Dean sure is hard for her characters. The Fae angle was a nice twist to the story, and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Sierra Dean is one of my favourite authors, her writing style is exactly how I like it. The plot is surprising, the dialogues often sarcastic, the characters become your friends (or those you hate intensely) and the books have a really good and original story line. Hmm I wonder who will become King when Lucas gets finally killed by Secret to get her divorce … (this is not a spoiler, this is me hoping that it will happen! I hate Lucas).10 stars.© 2013 Reviews by Aurian Full review on my blog,

*Sometimes a secret goes to the grave. Sometimes Secret puts you there. *Secret McQueen, Book 5It’s been a hell of a year for Secret McQueen, and the last thing in the world she wants is to get caught up in werewolf drama. But when her former fiancé Lucas Rain shows up asking for her help, she knows there’s no easy way out. After making it known she wants nothing to do with him, Secret agrees to help find Lucas’s wayward sister Kellen. After all, how much trouble could one socialite get into in the city that never sleeps? Unless that socialite has been spirited away by fairies. Trying to track down a missing girl in an alternate reality is just the start of Secret’s problems, though. Someone appears to be killing teenagers, and the MO looks eerily similar to something for which the half-fairy oracle, Calliope, might be responsible. Throw in a rogue wolf pack claiming allegiance to Secret’s mother, Mercy, and she’ll have miles to go before she rests. Warning: This book contains a promise fulfilled, sex that’s out of this world, and more heartache than one hybrid assassin can handle.Review “Readers will enjoy the witty, sarcasm-laden and biting (pardon the pun) narrative of the cool, detached, wisecracking anti-heroine. Terrific one-liners and snappy writing ease the reader into Dean’s supernatural subculture. Thick with familiar material, it’s a smörgåsbord of supernatural themes that works because it doesn’t take itself too seriously.”4 Stars—RT Book Reviews on Something Secret This Way Comes “With Secret McQueen, Sierra Dean not only delivers a heroine with one of the coolest names in urban fantasy, but also one with a sarcastic sensibility that speaks directly to my heart. I look forward to learning more about McQueen’s secrets!”—Jaye Wells, USA Today Bestselling author of the Sabina Kane series on Something Secret This Way Comes “A brilliantly badass read full of smart writing, inventive thrills, and spicy, sexy fun. I've had the eARC of Grave Secret for months before I finally broke down and read it. Once I started reading it, I could not stop. I was anxious, my stomach was in knots and I wanted to do bodily harm to Secret and my Kindle. Grave Secret had my emotions all over the place and it did not let go.I'm not going to recap the plot. I'm just going to discuss my reactions. No spoilers. When I finished, Grave Secret, my first thought was, I hated it. There were several times I wanted to DNF it. Not because the book was bad but because of Secret's actions. She made me sick to my stomach. The set up for what Secret does has been there, in the background for several books. All roads led up to her doing this 'thing' but Ms. Dean made us wait for it in Grave Secret. If it had happened at the beginning of the book - like we were led to believe- then I don't think my reaction would have been so fierce. But no. I got all comfortable, thinking it wouldn't happen. And then BOOM! I let my guard down, Secret was her usual stubborn self and didn't listen to Calliope and she did IT!! I wanted to throw my Kindle, kick Secret in the arse and stop reading. But I couldn't stop. And this is why this book was so good.Secret pissed me off to no end. She was already on thin ice with me but she pushed me over the edge. I can't root for her. I don't want her to be happy because she obviously doesn't want to be happy. I love a strong heroine who can kick ass and take names and that is Secret McQueen. But she's also stubborn, pig-headed and thinks she knows everything. She acts first and then the inevitable fall out happens. The fall out in Grave Secret is huge.I finished Grave Secret hating life. LOL! I couldn't fall asleep because all I could think about was Secret and her dumbass decisions. All I know is that I need Secret to suffer in the next couple of books...a lot. She doesn't deserve a lick of any happiness or goodness in her life. There are so many surprises in Grave Secret that kept me on my toes. My emotions were all over the place. I cried. I raged. I cried again. I can't wait to read what's in store for Secret. A little birdie told me that Secret suffers a lot in Secret Unleashed, which will be out later this year. Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to this? Hee hee.Grave Secret is another great installment in this series. I hope Secret finally comes to her senses. She really needs to stop and think every once in awhile. I hope after what went down in Grave Secret, Secret finally grows and matures. She isn't there yet but I hope she gets there soon.BTW - I'm still Team Desmond. He deserves so much better than her.

Meh. Not as good as the previous ones. It was more difficult to follow and, apart from the human thing, quite obvious. Unfortunately Brigit's death was expected. I'm very sorry to see her go. I always liked her and she was a great friend for Secret. Probably the only one who didn't expected anything back except the return of her friendship. The whole fairy thing gave me a headache and only Secret to think her greatest weapon is a sword and not her powers. I am glad she finally admitted to herself and Holden she loves him too. Their time together was written wonderfully and was everything I wanted it to be. Lucas was quite easy to hate...I was thinking Secret was going to have a horribly hard time forgetting him but apparently she finally figured out he wasn't worth it, he didn't really loved her and she didn't love him either. Not gonna make it easier on being a Queen for the wolves though. I terribly missed Sig. He only showed up briefly and I gotta say he's one of my favourite characters.Had I been the author, I would have run with the Sig scenario for Secret. I would have chosen him to turn her into a vampire. It wouldn't have solved everything but it would have solved some of problems she's been running away from since the beginning. The Juan Carlos thing, the not being a pure vampire and finally being divided between two worlds. I understand she may not have made a choice yet but it's getting frustrating and honestly? I am not fond of the wolves right now. Lucas is an a**hole, Mercy is a bitch and the pack would turn their backs to her soon as they found out about her dual heritage. Don't get me wrong...the vamps would too. But vamps are known to be selfish. Wolves are all about family and friends and pack. Being together no matter what and all that crap yet they would and will turn their backs to her soon as they find out. The only reason Desmond accepted was because he was already in love with her and Lucas? He wanted a queen who would support but not confront him. He probably thought a half-breed soul mate was perfect. Strong but insecure about her role in wolf society.Anyway I am anxious to know more about Peyton's escape from prison and I want to read about Secret finally killing her mother. Damn! That woman annoys me like hell. Peyton will probably join her mother again in his kill Secret quest. I hope she manages to kill them both! Painfully!

God, oh, God! Not again. I am really hating Lucas right now, especially after what he did, the fact that he has the guts to ask Secret for help, no matter what his reason is... I know he's desperate, but right know i'm too mad to make sense. If it weren't for the fact that it's because of Kellen, i would not have read this book, i mean come on. When i read the ending of keeping secret, i just couldn't, can't put into words how pissed off i was for so many reasons one of the being the wedding, i'm really big about weddings and what Lucas did... aghuuu!!! I HATE HIM, and Secret. I used to really like him, i wanted Secret to be with him and not Dam, but now i'm lovin Dam, switchin teams. If secret helps Lucas again, i will stop reading Secret McQueen. Second reason for me not liking the ending was, Holden. No offence to Holden, but to me it feels like him and secret wouldn't work, like those kind of relationships that you think will be great until you start dating and it doesn't work out for either of them, maybe i'm wrong and he will be Mr.Right, I don't know we'll see. I really hope the head of the vampire council ... isn't in love with secret too, that's just to much, i hope Sierra is just tricking us. It went past love triangle when Holden came in, but if he is too, oh lord.I like him, but just too many people.I also hope Calliope in't behind the killings, i really like her.Warning: This book contains... more heartache than one hybrid assassin can handle. Really. Really! I'm so close to not reading Grave secrets, after reading that warning. SeriouslyNow for Good comments; I really do love Secret Mcqueen, i love the covers and the irony of the protagonists name, as well as the titles. Always give me a chuckle. No offence to the people who designed this cover, but Secret kinda looks like she has man shoulders, lol!Just another 3 more books to go until we can finally know how it ends, the suspense is killing me and i wish they were all out, but at the same time, i don't want it to end.

Okay so I think its safe to say after the fourth book I'm just completely over the Secret McQueen books and I don't think I have any plans to continue the series from now on. To be completely honest I was disappointed by the second book but decided against my better judgement to continue reading it in case it somehow miraculously got did not.I think my main frustration is Secret herself (and Lucas but mostly Secret)! What the heck? Seriously! I totally get that Secret has herself caught in two different worlds so the whole lovers from both worlds thing makes sense. But three different lovers? Seriously three? And the possibility of a fourth? Ok I get the whole trying to keep it interesting by tossing in a few characters to get the whole love triangle going but its the fact that she sleeps with one then turns around and sleeps with the other and then she's all like 'Oh no but I love Desmond and I'll do whatever it take to get him back' then turns right around and sleeps with Holden WHILE DESMOND IS IN THE NEXT ROOM!!!!!DID SHE NOT LEARN WITH LUCAS?! Obviously not because she decides to have a go with Holden! UGH, then there's Holden. How many years has he known Secret and then he decides that one day he MUST have Secret regardless of the fact that shes already knee deep in with two other Werewolves. Then there's Lucas himself, the fact alone that he stood Secret up on his wedding day for political reasons is reason enough to hate him, but then he decides to blackmail Secret into helping him or he'll send Desmond away that just adds fuel to the fire of hatred I already have burning for him. Quite frankly Lucas is a complete ass and the fact HE'S suppose to be the an alpha is quite hilarious given how incredibly immature he is. I think the only character I like is Desmond and his brother. I pity poor Desmond, I can only hope that Sierra Dean comes to her senses and lets Desmond move away so he can fall hopelessly in love with some quiet girl who isn't as indecisive as Secret with who she sleeps with.
