This is another one of my favorites from the series. I’ve always loved Jimmy’s boa constrictor and his crazy antics. I’ve also loved reading these books to children when I would volunteer at the school My Mom taught at, or when I worked as a storytelling and music specialist at a day camp for several years.

Steven Kellogg's wacky illustrations are an absolutely necessary component of Trinka Hakes Noble's succinct dialogue. Her casual understatements lead to mass confusion and misconception that cannot be depicted in any way but through the pictures. The clever use of speech balloons or thought balloons throughout the book serves as a way to set borders on the images that seem to explode from the page. This is truly a picture book in the sense that Lambert's article describes. The illustrations and the text form equal dimensions of the relationship and interaction with the reader and the viewer/listener to tell the story.

Jimmy's Boa makes another Meggie's mother's garden club meeting! After sleeping outside all night, the boa was calm and slow allowing Meggie's mother to wear it as a "boa" to dress up her old gray suit. But this causes lots of hilarious calamities at the garden gathering.A fantastic humorous story, but not a good read-aloud as with all of Kellogg's work, his illustrations can be over-whelming for a group audience.

Jimmy's boa constrictor attends a Garden Party put on by the Mother of his friend, Meggie; let's just say, hilarity is the end result!A little difficult to understand at first, but the remarkable pictures by Steven Kellogg, will keep your little ones entertained!Just don't take it too seriously.I love how the boa constrictor and the poodle become best friends!

I LOVE these books. They are so funny. I love the whole idea of a little girl telling someone a crazy story. She has an answer to everything that they ask when they are questioning if it's true. Making you start to wonder how it could be a lie. The idea is just so original I can't get over it! What a good idea! These books are great!

What a silly little book. This book is the sequel to "The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate The Wash." It's a very imaginative story with wacky illustrations. It's great to get the students' minds thinking creatively.

Meggie and her mother take Jimmy's Boa to a garden club meeting. After the chaos that ensues, they are never allowed to go back again. Jimmy's boa finds a new home with the unsuspecting Miss Peachtree.

While this one doesn't hold quite the charm for me of Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash, it's still fun to see Jimmy, Meggie, and the boa in a new setting! The garden club meeting makes for some funny exchanges between the boa, the garden club members, and the punch bowl.

This was an okay read as both imagination and humor were brought about in this unique story of a women's garden party attended by a boa constrictor. I think the most entertainging part fo this book was the funny illustrations with delightful details that really completed this tale of nonsense.

This is the sequel to The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash. This book is about how Jimmy's Boa takes a little adventure through the neighborhood. I loved all of the creative illustrations that covered the pages.

Another fun story of Jimmy and his now wayward pet, the Boa Constrictor. Somehow the Boa makes an appearance at a Garden Club Part and does what he does best.... cause trouble.

This was a really fun book and the kids loved it. They like the snake character and I enjoyed the backwards telling of the story.

Very imaginative illustrations, driven by a clever story. Lots of detail in both.
